How is Gaethje the smart pick??? I've seen him open at +140. Close to a 50/50.  I don't get that at all???
I see people saying Tony is too hittable and Gaethje has too much power.  Are people forgetting Gaethje has been KO'd against the 2 top 5 opponents he's faced and was secondsfrom being finished 2x by Michael Johnson?
Ok, Tony does get hit, usually early, but he has never been KO'd. If anything he seems to get better after getting beat up a little
I really like Gaethje and his balls to the wall style but I think it's that very style that gets him finished by Tony, likely after a crazy 1st round with a lotta damage on both sides. But I am definitely backing Ferguson to come out on top

@Mikey Johnson has the fastest hands in LW UFC history. He smoked Poirier for that reason. He's got a very limited skillset but yeah, if his opponent plays inside his distance he's more than likely going to tag or KO them. He wobbled khabib and flashed Poirier. He's got great hands, that's not what lets him down.

Tony might not have been finished but he's been ******* close. Pettis, Vannata, Lee, they've all caught him hard early. Michael Johnson literally beat him BTW.

I see this as a pickem. It's either going to be Tony by beat up and sub around the end of the 3rd or the 4th early or Gaethje by KO within 2. I'll go with option B. won't be surprised if I'm right or wrong, but I'm about 55-60% confident on Justin.

@Fish  I do understand why you favour Gaethje. I mean I can see a path to victory for Gaethje.
About Johnson, 1stly when did he have Khabib wobbled, stunned and in trouble???? I never understood this?  Yeah yeah I know he has that win over Ferguson but it was a close decision and more importantly Ferguson's arm was badly broken, in the 2nd I believe. Also, I'd say that was a different fighter, actually that loss to Johnson and the year out was a turning point in Ferguson's career.  Whereas the Gaethje who was near finished by Johnson is pretty much the same guy, I dont buy the theòry that Gaethje is a more patient, calculated fighter after the 2 KO losses.  Vick, Barbosa and Cowboy are all relatively easy work compared to Ferguson.
Lee or Pettis where never close to finishing Tony.  I mean was Tony hit, yeah he sure was!  But he was never close to being finished. In fact after Lee dropped him with that jab, Lee was knocked off his feet less than a minute later and in the Pettis fight, after Pettis landed that big right hand Tony, in the midst of the crazy scrambling defence landed an elbow that split Pettis wide open!!  The only time I feel he was in legitimate danger was when Vannata landed that head kick clean and even then Tonys survival instincts were great.
I guess my thoughts are that this fight will be chaotic and Tony survives, thrives in the chaos better than Gaethje.

Whatever mate.  I expect we will get a wild, enjoyable, crazy fight!

In regards to Ferguson vs Gaethje...
I know Gaethje’s two losses are both KO’s from top 5 guys, but we can’t act like he went in there and got completely outclassed. I need to watch the Alvarez fight again, but Gaethje was up 3-0 against Poirier before he got caught.
I’m still probably gonna lean Ferguson, but to act like this fight doesn’t have the potential be VERY close is kinda crazy.

Its a close fight, Ferguson destroyed everybody but none of is victims are actually in the top 5. Its definitivelly going to be a step up for him. Gaethje is very dangerous in the 1st round. Stil, I think Ferguson win the war in the thirds or fourth round like Poirier did.

Dusti dusted justi eddi was more tactical.
Neither have stopped wws or mws.
Ferguson has done both and survided both.
I will be rooting for both but if dont count tony out.
I expect tony to dump buckets of pain and late ko.
Justi folds under pressure and tony wont gas

This is a better card then the 1st card fight wise because they  swapping boring russian leg humper with brawler and i see this card being finish heavy instead of more decsion with Gaeche vs Fergoson, Luque vs Price and Ngagnnu vs rozenstruck being really good fight   . But im pissed off also because i wanted to see what el cucey do to Khabib because Khabib is 28 and 0 with the most effective style in MMA and he afraid of El cucey as he doesn't want location as he big russian chicken

i doubt gaethje can win this if he doesnt knock tony out in the first 1.5 rounds - whereas tony could win by tko/sub in rounds 1-5, or by decision

that being said if gaethje knocks tony out in the first 1.5 rounds i wouldnt be particularly shocked

still think tonys the safer choice though

hopefully we get a gaethje fight that goes past round 1 / a tony fight that goes past "fight gets stopped by the doctor in between the round 2-3 transition"
