Jones top 3 is stupid.. Just look at the facts hes beaten 2, Maybe 3 if you count Bader top 10 light heavyweights. every other champ beside Velasquez has defended the belt 2 more times then Jones. Anderson is 12-0 in the ufc and has 9 title defenses, To even consider putting Jones near Anderson just makes you a dummy. GSP is 16-2 in the ufc and has 6 title defenses, So GSP is obviously ahead. Edgar is 9-1-1 in the ufc with 3 title defenses. Aldo and Cruz also on big big win streaks. So to put Jones ahead of any of them to me is a little crazy, Im not saying Jones is a great fighter, He clearly is but he has to go out there and keep beating the top 10 like Anderson, GSP, Edgar, Cruz and Aldo have been doing. Then I will put him top 5.

It is all perspective @Thiago.  People may rank Jones higher b/c he completely dominates the his competition and finishes them where as Cruz/Aldo have not finished a title defense.  Frankie has been stuck in too much un-certainty imo with the 1st BJ fight and the draw.  I would say Frankie needs to prove himself more than Jones/Aldo/Cruz to be in the top5... not Jones.

I really like Frankie, especially coming off this win. He just wont go down! Any normal human would be in a coma after both the first rounds he had against Maynard II and III, but Frankie carries on. Idk about him being #2 though.. You could argue a champion shouldnt be in those situations or you could argue it takes a real champion to get out of it. I got him ranked about 4/5th. Silva, Gsp, Jones then between him and Aldo

I think Edgar has a brutal division to fend off in the year ahead, if he holds on to his belt I can def see the case for a #2 argument. Good point about Jones Destroying his opponents also, you have to def factor that in.

Frankie's impressive but not number 2, he doesn't have that air of invincibility like some of the guys do.

Swick, dominated? Anderson has fought in the LHW division twice. James Irvin is the equivalent of Leonard Garcia (without the chin) of the LHW division and he fought Forrest who had undoubtedly the most ignorant gameplan of all time until Melvin this past Saturday.

I don't know, the way Edgar seems to bounce back, seems pretty invincible. I hate to sound like a band wagoner but he's made a fan out of me.

I've never been a huge fan of Edgar but after surviving those beating's from Gray in the last 2 fights I'm starting to be impressed with this kids heart. I wouldn't rank him above GSP, Silva or Jones anytime soon but he is tough

I have no problem with Edgar at #3, easily too. Jones hasn't been tested yet imo, I'm not sure anyone at lhw will either. If Jones destroys Rashad then it'll be an interesting debate.

Jones hasn't been tested yet? Shogun, Rampage, Bader, Matyushenko, Vera, Hamill, and Bonnar is pretty good for a guy with just fifteen fights.

I agree I think Jones has been tested with some tough competition

Its Anderson/GSP at 1&2 then any combination of Edgar, Aldo, and Jones 3 through 5.  Velasquez will be right there too if he beats JdS in dominate fashion.

If Edgar beats Melendez I think he might overtake GSP though.

Im no fan of Jones but he has been in there with some of the best at LHW.

I think 1&2 should be between Anderson and GSP. 3-6 is a combination of Edgar, Jones, Aldo, Velasquez

The finish argument in Jones case vs lw/fw/bw is stupid. It's much harder to finish someone in the lower weight classes.

I guess what I mean by tested is how he handles being in a trouble situation, not taking anything away from what Jones has done at all, we just haven't seen how he handles adversity yet. We've seen how Anderson, GSP, and Frankie have handled an ass beating and that's what makes a champion to me.

I would have to say he is #3, I think honestly that Edgar might be able to take Aldo by decision. In time if Edgar doesn't lose then he will climb the p4p rankings as the top guys retire or fade.

@Itfigures... the fact he hasn't been put in a troubling situation against guys like Rampage and Shogun even bolster his arguments for a better ranking imo.  I think we are all pretty close to agreement though really.. we all pretty much agree Frankie is not quite #2 yet, but he is definately deserving of a top 5 spot... top7 atleast.

@norbar... I disagree, to say fighters who weight less are harder to finish is kind of weird to me.
