Not gonna lie, I am not a fan of Edgar. But he is an amazing fighter, would make a GREAT featherweight! But #2 P4P ... I beg ti differ.

After thinking about it and looking at the list, I think I'll drop Jose below Anderson and GSP. I try not to overreact to one performance but that's 2 underwhelming fights in a row.

I have him at #4 behind Silva, GSP, and Jones. I had Aldo in there in front of him but his past few performances have been very un-Aldo like.

@puta.. Maybe if you actually read my comment. Matt Hughes is not a lightweight. I said most dominant lightweight. And I said they werent dominant champions "in the ufc". Shogun didnt defend. And Rampage only defended once in a fight I personally thought he lost.

@mulefloyd That's the most interesting P4P list that I've EVER seen. Of course it's based on opinion so I'm not going to judge, but I juts have to ask whyy you have Velasquez at #1, as he has not even defended his title yet?

@Gregory - it doesn't matter how long you fight but how many good fighters you have beaten. Jones has beaten some legends and I'm sure he will soon be top 3 p4p but he still has fewer top level fighters under his belt than some other fighters.
It's a p4p ranking not a skills ranking. Also if it was we would have to adjust his phisical ability and it would also put him lower. I'm not bashing him in any way. He is a great fighter and I see him regining for quite some time but rankings are based on results, people project a lot on jones (even if they are right in their projections)

Fresno, quick question: Who is the ONLY undefeated UFC champ? Plus he's never lost a round. People are too stuck on the fact that Kongo connected at the beginning of each round. I don't value "dominance" as much because imo Cain and Frankie have more complete skill sets and that includes willingness to fight as a skill. I hate the phrase "martial arts" because it is trying to deceive what the true purpose is. Does that give any insight to my thought processes?

@norbar I wasn't making a jon jones comment. just a question on why how long you have been fighting is important... in my view either you are either the best or you're not, regardless of the length of your career

Plus, to me, in p4p rankings you have to give credit to guys who are small for their class and take away from those who are the biggest.

@Gregory - yes that is true but even though Jones is PROBABLY the best lhw in a long while rankings in my opinions should be judged by RESULTS not supposed skills.
You can make educated guesses about who is the best but rankings should be about facts and the only facts in fighting are results. Even if everybody knows you are the best with 99% probability you should not go up the rankings before you PROVE IT. That's the differance between PERCIVED ranking and REAL one.

I wasn't that impressed by his Hamill when considering Hamill's shoulder injury and how long it took Jones to finish and how sloppy he looked.

@mule forget how impressive or unimpressive you thought he was in the hamill fight. do you really think it should be a loss?
the way i look at it, both cain and bones are both undefeated champions.

Yes, Gregory, but he's not undefeated. I was impressed with the Rampage fight. And no matter how reluctant he was to engage, he got Quinton's respect and you could tell by how "mesmerized" Rampage was. But until I see him get challenged, he stays #3.

I think because of how dominant Jones looks people hold him up to a higher standard and every time where he doesn't dominate they will claim he had a weaker performance. I know I was guilty of that in the Page fight.
Still I belive that we need Grey Maynard or a Chael type of fighter at LHW to at least give Jones a fight. That or Hulkares.

and then separately, on the point of how impressive or unimpressive the jones performance over hamill was, WHAT are you talking about? yerrrrrrrrr crazy. that was mind blowing the way he threw hamill around like a little kid.

@Gregory.. But the fact of it is, Cain is, Jones isnt. I could Argue Tyson to be 19-1 because of bad decisions but the fact is he is 15-5. That was the choices the referees/judges made and thats what goes down on the record.
