I got about half way through that video and turned it off, because I felt like I was listening to a four year old tell me a story he was making up as he went along.

I would love for there to be penalties for stalling or standing them up sooner than normally. I'm a big PRIDE fan though, and I would like to see UFC with PRIDE rules...sometimes, but they'll never go there because it's more of a sport now then fights.

The Japanese fans were awesome and they showed up en masse.  I like elbows, but i also like kicking/kneeing downed opponents. Legalize em both and double the fighters salaries!

There's a few kids in my jiu jitsu class that are 'fans' of the sport, mainly the UFC. I hear some people talk about how Pride was better, just because of the soccer kicks and whatnot. Pride was fantastic, I wish i was into it sooner, but it wasn't all about the soccer kicks, it was about some of these other rules Nick talked about. The yellow cards for stalling, stuff like that. Part of me prefers no elbows, because I hate seeing fighters get brushed from an elbow and come out with a giant gash on their face. I'm not a big fan of Nick's, but he does say some true things here. I have nothing against the UFC, but Pride did have some good ideas when it was around.

2 people must be 4 year olds, making up stories as they go along.

I don't think I could ever be for soccer kicks or stomps.  It's more of a street fight tactic than a technique.

i too agree soccer kicks and stomps dont fit into mordern mma, but knees to the head of a downed fighter should be allowed. A lot of the smaller, up and coming orgs have been using them and it shows how they counter act wrestler heavy stalling.

@townstar. that is quite unusual. knees to the head i bet have caused more concussions then any other tactic in MMA.

There is a certain feeling i get when watching Pride fights that will never be emulated again, same with the WEC.

That does sound like a dirty move that soccer kick but everybody gotta remember its a FIGHT. now groin shots i have a problem with. maybe UFC fight for Japan would adopt PRIDE's rules just for one night since its rumored to have PRIDE's Vets.

If we used penalty cards for stalling like pride did, john fitch wouldnt get paid. He would get card after card. By the time they were done adding all the cards up he would be in the negative and owe the ufc money.
Im against soccer kicks and stomps as well, but i agree that knees to the head of a grounded opponent should be legal. They also gotta fix that wack rule about a fighter being able to stand up on 2 feet but put 1 hand on the mat and is considered down.

Yeah, i liked the pride rules as well.
But i dont think that the whole soccer kicks and everything would give the UFC a very good image. Which is important now because they want to seem as civil as possible.

other than myself and my girlfriend my whole family considers mma (ultimate fighting to them) human ****fighting. adding soccerkicks and knees to the head would not change anything to the person who has already decided.
