This fight is almost a no-brainer becuase for the UFC, win or lose, Conor has a title.

This move to LW is the first mistake McGregor's made. It's a gamble, and not the sign of a wise man. You don't get greedy when you're at the top.

It's interesting that people are saying that McGregor going up to LW is not smart or wise of him. However, if this was DJ going up to BW to challenge for the title people would be praising him and saying, it's about time. Sure, I understand that DJ has been champ for longer and has basically cleaned out the division. I just can't imagine another champion being called greedy for challenging themselves and moving up a weight class.

I hope Dos Anjos steps his game up. Grows his hair out, gets himself a perm. Wears a tree piece suit, pink dolphin skinned shoes. He can say the Brazilians that killed the elephants making Conor's suit, literally died trying to kill the polar bears to make his, so it's a Brazilian tusk suit.

@unbeknownst I don't think people don't agree with Connor going up because he wants to challenge himself.

first of all his own trainer said Connor wasn't making that weight cut again, so probably is not so much because he wants to challenge himself but because the weight cut is getting to taxing for him, he is a BIG FW, he is about the same size and similar built than RDA and RDA is a big LW.

but most importantly Im pretty sure that most people don't agree with that move because, he hasn't defended his belt yet, is not about him cleaning the division is about not having 1 single defense on his title, and Frankie having payed his dues over and over again for a title shot its getting left behind again. I'm willing to bet that he'll vacate the FW title IF he wins the LW belt, he is just doing it because he wants to have the 2 belts at the same time.

McGregor taking a gamble or not we will see, but at the moment he should be a very confident man and the sky is the limit!
I think is not going to have any trouble to make the weight and will be supported by a huge and noisy crowd.
McGregor to win in my modest opinion.

Conor is king, but I've never picked against the future goat and I don't plan on starting now.

I know that I was wrong about McGregor not beating Aldo and Mendes, but I was also right about RDA obliterating everyone on his way to the title. Don't misunderstand, Conor is a beast - he works hard, plans well and has precision and power, but RDA could be the most talented lightweight we've ever seen, and now that he is finally living up to his potential I have no reason to think that he'll lose in his own weight class.

Frankie said recently that maybe Conor is calling the shots. He obviously is not but the UFC is making sure that he will be around for awhile and in the spotlight. Once they find a new guy as king of PPV and publicity(as Ronda WAS), he will go to the wayside, though.

Based on what? From everything ive ever read and from people I talked to who know him, even said he spends a lot of time back home. In fact he prefers it because no one in his home town bothers him. SO as usual, where connor is concerned, your talking out your ass.
