He hasn't even had a legit boxing match since January 30th of 2013. And that fight was sketchy as ****. He turns 41 next month, and, honestly, I highly doubt people care about Kimbo the way they did 4-5 years ago. Bellator really gains nothing from this signing in the long run. If you're gonna throw a bunch of money at a 40 year old fighter, do it to someone like Mirko Cro Cop. At least Cro Cop has done decent in both MMA and kickboxing over the last 3 years.

Don't see the point of this, I thought Kimbo had exhausted his appeal by the end of his UFC run. They better be signing like, Herschel Walker or Jose Canseco to fight him.

He will draw viewers. Promotions aren't marketing to the hardcore fans; they're trying to bring in new viewers to try to get back to the pre-decline days. If you walk into your work and ask 10 random people under 40 who Kimbo Slice is, I would bet that at least half would know he is a fighter. I'd be willing to bet significantly less than that know who Jose Aldo is.
