it's not really a myth that you can't put a logical ******* sentence together, is it?  <----  that's a question mark, it's a form of punctuation.

Anderson is not heavy for a middleweight at all...

@franklin880088 - You can quote Anderson's training weight vs. Nick's walk-around-weight to try and make apples to oranges seem like a logical comparison, but Anderson's walk-around-weight is per him 220-230 and Nick is 190 unless he can pack more on by January.  Of course Silva is closer to 200 right before the final cut.  He is still a 30 pound larger man in general and no one is using it as an excuse so not sure where that came from or the illogical comparison.  No one is saying he'll outweigh him by 30+ on fight night, but his body structure and mass are of a man 30 pounds heavier.  It's not rocket science.

@franklin thinks he knows everyones walk around weight and training weight. He pulls numbers out of nowhere instead of actually going by what the fighters' training partners and manager says.

@kpro is right. Silva's weight is between 220-230 when he doesn't have a fight and then he slowly cuts weight throughout his camp. But the fact that he does get up to that much and doesn't get fat shows that he's a pretty big guy especially for MW. On fight night Silva will have a distinct weight advantage over Diaz but even if he didn't I think he would still beat Diaz.

Anderson is going to have speed, power, and reach advantages unless he has deteriorated significantly since his broken leg. At first glance, this doesn't seem competitive. I'm gonna guess this is the first time Diaz will be legitimately stopped on the big stage.

Simple solution: publicly get on a scale a month out from the fight and at least once a week up until fight week and then once a day. They need to do this for all fights so that people will see how much cheating is going on. I say cheating because the idea of weight classes was so that equal sized (at least weight wise) fighters would meet but American folk-sylte wreslters and their idiotic cult of sucking water out of their bodies in order to have a size advantage, thus cheat, have ruined this idea. A scale is one of the cheapest, most accessible, pieces of technology and using it and making it public is the 1st step to getting rid of this ridiculous practice.

One great result of this would be allowing fighters to fight in the weight class that they will for most of their career when in  a TUF situation and also short-notice fights wouldn't be near as much of a hassle for those always in shape.

@Zarog Speed is one thing I am interested in seeing. I am not sure Silva will have the speed advantage and I am not sure how much of a factor it will be. If Diaz is not overextending and flailing at air it might not matter much, like the Weidman fight. Weidman is really slow. Show be fun to watch.

Yes Anderson is the GOAT but his chin isn't the same and he won't kickbox the same. He is 39 and he will be coming off the hardest rehab imaginable followed by a training camp. If he can come back after that injury and at this age he is not even human. It will be a sad day to see Anderson get battered up for five rounds and realize his career is over. You are all comparing silva as a champ to diaz but it's silva now to diaz. And also you are comparing them by looking at them on paper when this fight is more about a style match up than most fights. Anderson will be looking a lot like bj in 2015
