I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

Blended is the same ol Adam Sandler Shtick.  It was better than the travesty that was Grown Ups 2 but I wouldn't call it a good movie. Every running gag in that movie fell flat on it's face.

As for Godzilla, overall I liked it. The human part of Godzilla was kind of slow and really didn't need to be there much. All the characters in that situation were interchangeable and really unecessary.  As for Godzilla himself and the MUTO they were awesome as was their battle scenes. Cut about 30 minutes out of that movie lose the story line with the kid from Kickass and the other Olsen sister and the movie improves immensely.

Just made it a double movie night. Rented the second Hobbit movie (which was 10 times better than the first imo). And a sci-fi movie called Enders Game with harrison ford. The main character played by a kid was excellent. The way he changed from showing emotions to being almost completely emotionless and calculating at times was amazing. If your a sci-fi and fantasy fanatic like i am, i would say you should give both a try.

Next double movie night im gonna rent the new captain america movie (first one sucked, i heard this one is 100 times better) and ::gulp:: Maleficent.

ACF, enjoy Capt. America, it's freaking awesome. Glad you enjoyed Ender's Game, it was one of my favorite books as a kid.

This is one of the most amazing scenes ever shot. I can't think of a better scene that I have ever seen in any movie ever.

@michigan It was solid. Rocket stole the movie for me. Absolutely perfect representation from Abnett/Lanning's run on Guardians about 6 years ago.

How are the action/fight scenes in it? Does it seem like Drax could go a few rounds with Hulk from Avengers? I never read the cosmic side of the MU, but Drax always seemed like more of a heavy hitter than he looks in the trailers.

@skell Action was okay, though I felt there were times it could've been filmed a little better because the lighting/shading made things sort of murky and hard to distinguish (though, that may have been the screen I watched it on as I felt the whole movie seemed sort of dim, so it could be that a bulb on the projector was starting to go out). Honestly, the whole movie is action/comedy. There is SO much going on all the time that it may also have been that some of the action scenes were less well tended to.

As for Drax, I definitely felt he was underpowered. In the comics Drax kills Thanos at one point. It definitely did not appear he had that type of ability in this movie. That was actually one of my few gripes with the movie. However, I thought Dave Bautista was actually pretty solid in terms of personifying Drax.

The CGI was....well....at times really spectacular, at times it was too obvious that it was CGI. Still, it was fun and if you're wanting to go see a movie that is extremely funny at all the right times (a problem I actually had with Thor: The Dark World, as it seemed the comedic relief was always forced and out of place, whereas, in Guardians it does not seem the least bit out of place and makes total sense in terms of the characters), action-packed, and has an excellent soundtrack, Guardians is awesome. This might also be the least kid-friendly of Marvel's films, as it has some more adult humor as well as more offensive language (assuming you mind cursing).

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy a few hours ago as well. I admit, there was wayyy more comedy than expected. Almost every line was a joke or set up for a joke. My favorite part was by far Ronan the Accuser.
