I think he could get a title shot.. but hes not going to beat Sonnen.. He will have to go a different route to get the title shot!

Brian is definitely the real deal. If he can beat Sonnen he's very well deserving a title shot imo. He seems like a very focused individual and will continue to keep evolving. Even if he does suffer a loss to Sonnen he'll come back even stronger learning from his mistakes.

Brian Stann has all the potential and tools to become the next big contender in the UFC MW division. Chael Sonnen is one-dimensional enough to train for and beat. Learn a great takedown defense, throw lots of puches, and learn some BJJ, especially a good triangle choke or how to transition to an armbar. Sonnen can't seem to avoid those submissions.

The big question is, can Stann beat Sonnen? Can he beat Anderson Silva? Is he ready for the top tier fighters in the UFC MW division? I say it's possible, but you can't just throw bombs and hope for the best like he did against Chris Leben. Against fighters like Sonnen, Munoz, Bisping, Belfort, Okami, and Silva you have to have a good gameplan to win. Stann's fight against Sonnen will prove whether or not he's ready to face the top tier MWs.

Not just to be a contender but Stann is a huge marketing opportunity for the UFC. If he can get his overall MMA game together then the UFC - and Stann - will make $_$

Americans love a fighter who's servered in some sort of army and is patriotic and he seems like a very nice guy on top of that, unlike Tim Kennedy who to me comes off as a bit ****ish.

I think as long as Stann keeps this one standing or lands a TD and stays on top, he's got this one in the bag. It's almost impossible to be American and not like everything about the guy.

Initially, when he was in WEC, I liked him by default because he's the hometown boy.

But I grew to legitimately put him in my top 5.

i like stann too but i doubt he beats sonnen. he has time left and i think andy will retire by the end of next year. what else does he have to prove. once silva is gone he will get a title shot vs somebody. maybe bisping. they would have to have that fight in the united states. bisping would have to put up with alot stuff if that fight happens.

Im a stann fan for sure.  I cant understand anyone not being a fan.  Id love to see him fight anderson, i want to see if he can land and hurt anderson.  I think he would bring the fight to silva and make it an exciting finish, but i think anderson puts him on his ass, which i dislike.  Chael might be able to beat him with such a strong top game.  I hope stann gets pulled from the sonnen fight and gets put up against someone he can knock out and then give him a title shot.

A class act/American war hero from the best camp in mma (imo) vs a money laundering(been charged), cheating (PEDs?) loud mouth who's biggest accomplishment was getting beat by Silva.  I really hope and do suspect Stann to win, possibly by KO because his striking is getting very good.

I'm not a really big Stann fan, I don't know why. Sonnen has this easy.
