I've been asking where this mofo's been at for weeks.

Probably booking him on the January Singapore card. Hopefully he stays at 145.

I can't see him doing anything but well at 145lbs in the UFC, it seems like everyone forgot how he shut down and controlled Josh Thompson to a unanimous decision. Kawajiri's a beast. So happy he's signed, long overdue.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG JESUS CHRIST!

Rumor has it there's one more JMMA fighter who signed, but's not a big name, so my guess is Kanehara.

Don't take my word for it, it's just a wild guess.

Yeah I saw reports that a lesser known guy got signed as well, I was thinking maybe Ulka. Kanehara would be cool but he's also in the middle of the Pancrase tourney

Doo Ho Choi is also rumored to have been signed, I know he's Korean but still. Sort of weird while far east MMA is having a bit of a resurgence in the UFC Okami has been cut.

It's important to keep in mind that a debut in Singapore would be excellent for Kawajiri. Cuts down on the jet-lag immensely for him, which has been a notorious problem for Asian imports into the UFC.

Choi signed a while ago and is debuting at the Singapore card.

The only Asian fighters who might be UFC level fighters that are unsigned are Kanehara, Tokoro, Kitaoka, ISAO, Kotani, Imanari and Aoki.

This is cool, but damn, it's also another case where a JMMA fighter comes in into the UFC in what might be the final stage of his career.  Crusher is 35 years old. There's a good chance that now is the start of his decline and this reinforces the "Japanese fighters were never good" mentality.

Thinking about it, Ishiwatari maybe UFC level too considering he almost beat Kyoji who we all saw what he was able to do in his UFC debut.

Then there's guys like Yokota who's on a roll and Nakamura and Hironaka who've fought in the UFC and are on a roll in Japan.

Actually, this thread has reminded me there's a ton of very good fighters in Japan.

Tokoro, Kanehara, Aoki, Kitaoka, Yokota, King Kaz, Hironaka, Kotani, Maeda, Mamoru although he's on his way out, DJ.taiki, Gono who's really fallen off, VTJ Team Alpha Male Hunter Uno, Anzai, ISAO, etc.

I know @Gregory, I just didn't want to be the one to say it. What's the deal with Jumabieke Tuexrun, I want to see that cat in action he's been signed for a while.

Considering the rumor is that you have to be a hardcore JMMA fan to know who the other fight is, I'm beginning to think it's Shinsho Anzai who's 7-1, a very good grappler, maybe UFC level and mentioned before PANCRASE 252 his goal was to get signed by the UFC so who knows.

He'd be a good pick up and I would probably write another long essay on why he would succeed in the UFC like I did for Kyoji who recently TKO'd Dustin Pague and like I have for Doo Ho Choi in the past.

I wouldnt say those are the only UFC level guys, Hironaka could be midlevel in the UFC, Ulka (while I dont think hes ready quite yet he's a great prospect), Chul Nam, Yun Jun is a prospect to watch for, Bae Young Kwon, DJ.taiki could be mid level, Yokota would do decent, Yamagami, and those are just off the top of my head

@Live2wrestle Yeah, I just mentioned a few, there's a ton of other guys.

@benjaminbrandt No, the source said you have to be a hardcore JMMA fan to know who it is, which is why I'm guessing it's Shinsho Anzai.

The source says the fighter isn't Kanehara, Uruka or Uno and the fighter has fought in DEEP and DREAM, so scratch Anzai.

Miyata and Kikuno are 2 names that competed in DEEP and DREAM that come to mind.

I read that more as one competed in DREAM and the other in DEEP. Think it could be Maeda? Or a longshot is Wada
