"I faced Anderson Silva and I am still alive... That can only mean... I AM INVINCIBLE!"
This is the only thing I can think of to explain this situation. Then again, his jiu-jitsu is really that good... Do you guys think he would stand a chance?

He'd do well to keep his attention focused on Anderson. He's not out of that fire yet.

Stay Humble Chris...You got Anderson in front of you again...I'd be worried about that...

He talked his way to probably his biggest payday. Even if (when) he gets blasted by Jones he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Sonnen is a bad example, Weidman is better in every aspect of the game.

Matt Serra won the belt too, would a fight between him and Anderson Silva at the time be a superfight? Hell, no!

Where is the source on this?
I highly doubt Weidman is the one asking about a superfight at this point, he's been too humble. If he even did say these things its probably because a journalist asked him if he'd fight Jon Jones now that he beat Anderson Silva.... he probably said i'd love the challenge and now the world assumes he's lobbying for a superfight!

I agree with amp112. The media can really make a fighter look like an *******.

We need champs like that in the UFC. Weidman has shown again and again that he'll take fights on short notice and how tough he really is. Will he remain the champ? Who cares. The guy just wants to fight the best and I personally praise the fearless fighters that speak their mind.
With that said, if Weidman wins the Silva rematch, I'd rather see him against Belfort as I find that match up pretty interesting. A fight with Jones would be fun to see though, mainly because I'd be interested in seeing what Chris would bring to the table in that battle.

Why? If they offered it to him and he denied it he'd be crucified for "ducking" Jones.
So far, in the short time he's been the champ, he was asked for an Anderson Silva rematch which he said "Yes" and was asked about Jon Jones which he said "Yes".
Weidman will take fights that are offered to him. I haven't seen him say "doesn't deserve" or "in the future" about his opponents or even himself. He's not shying away from anything. He's simply stating that he will fight them. With so many people worried about their "legacy" and fighters pulling out of fights all the time, this is a prime example of the warrior spirit that people should support, instead of looking at the politics behind all of it.

Media did the same thing with Jones after he beat Shogun. He just got the title and people are talking about a superfight with Silva.
