This is a difficult question for me because I feel like both have done enough to warrant a title shot. I like Guida more but there's no way anyone can deny Miller and what he's done in the lightweight division.

Both warrant a title shot, but Jim Miller deserves the title shot. I think Jim Miller has the better resume. He is already almost the next John Fitch.

Since we have to wait so long for a title shot to be available after the rescheduling of maynard/edgar 3 there are several matchups to watch but undoubtedly Jim Miller needs to get that shot if he defeats Ben Henderson. Which is one of my most anticipated fights this year absolutely perfect match-up from Joe Silva.

I actually agree Miller should get the shot...If he gets by Bendo now though...That won't be easy!

I consider Guida's wins over Dos Anjos, Gomi and Pettis to be superior to all of Miller's current win streak combined.

guida just beat pettis who was the no.1 contender,i mean i realise miller is also deserving but guida just proved he's worthy of it with his most recent win......

I honestly don't care who they give the shot too...Neither one is beating Edgar/Maynard...Not a UFC 155er is gonna beat them...Melendez and maybe Alvarez have a shot and Aldo if he ever moves to 155

Jim Miller should get the next title shot ,If he beats Ben Henderson. If not at least let him fight Gilbert for the Strikeforce belt.

If miller gets through Bendo, I think it should be him, he has impressed me a lot more. @Geez, you're my boy but, I think Millers 7 fight win streak with wins over Olivera (submission), Bocek, Danzig, Shalarous, and Tibau. Not to mention, his only losses are against Maynard and Edgar. I can see why people think Guida, dude is a beast. Either way, should be a good fight, no one outworks Clay Guida. It would be interesting to see him vs Edgar. Or Maynard for that fact.

See that's the thing is if Miller beats Bendo it would be damn near impossible to not give him the shot. Guida beating Pettis was huge and he's never fought Edgar or Maynard. Guida is a beast and that's a fact. NOBODY out works Guida like you said. He would give Edgar or Maynard a run for their money off sheer heart and will to win. Frankie and Clay would be a 5 round war that would never be forgotten. Finishing either one of them is damn near impossible. Hopefully somehow both Miller and Guida get a title shot in the near future.

@ michigan, I totally agree that Miller's streak is impressive. Bocek and Tibau especially, but their names aren't Gomi or Pettis.
Plus Miller already has a loss to Maynard which won't help his case if Maynard wins the title. Meanwhile Guida hasn't had a chance to shine against either one of them yet and has taken guys like Diego and Melendez to split decisions.
They should scrap the Miller vs Bendo fight and have Guida vs Miller to end the debate. There will be plenty of time since Maynard vs Edgar 3 hasn't even been scheduled yet.

I guess it's Guida. I don't like his chances in either matchup, but he's earned it.

Jim Miller/Ben Henderson winner deserves it for sure. Those are two guys who go out there and fight. They don't lay on their opponent to get points like Guida. He should be nowhere near title contention, all he does is avoid fighting. Against Gomi he just bobbed his head around until Gomi got careless. Against Pettis he got takedowns and just held him there. He's a disgrace to the sport, and I hope he gets destroyed.

Another guy who's up there is Guillard. I don't like his chances against Maynard, but I think he could beat Edgar if he keeps improving his wrestling.

@mino Agreed his major offense in the Pettis fight was shoulder strikes from guard while he kept both hands clasped behind Pettis's back, not to mention Miller/Bendo is probably going to be the best fight any of us see all year

I agree w/ @Mino too actually.  I wouldn't say Clay is a disgrace to the sport, but I agree w/ your analysis.  Guillard is def a dark horse in that division now for sure.  @Mino.. Melvin's base is wrestling... it is his sub skills (offense & defense) he needs to work on.
