Too bad for Cat...I'm a bigger fan of Tate though so this works for me, and Ronda/Miesha will make for better TV imo.

It put the UFC in a bind. What I'm really concerned with at this point is the girls trying to crack into the UFC. They are who I am the most concerned with.
I am just blowing off steam and frustration that Cat didn't get to reap the harvest instead of Miesha. I would have preferred Cat get all the exposure and Miesha had waited her turn to get back into the queque.
But under this particular set of circumstances, the UFC had no other credible, viable option.
Good call, mike. Nice post.

Bill: "Why should Rousey have cared who won?"
I am gonna go ahead and guess that you have never had a rival, my friend. And I am going to further assume that you have never changed your life by trash talking someone like Ronda did with Meisha. Why wouldn't she want more opportunities to build her brand, WMMA, and the UFC?!

Ya it really does suck for Cat Zingano, she loses out on the show and all the fame and money that come with it, I bet it will burn a little bit when Dana gives out a 20k bonus for the best hula hoop compition. She'll have to settle for the title shot when she heals up and try to make the most of it.
On the other hand Tate really lucked out, I don't think she would have beat Liz Carmouche. Now she get's the shot, the show and with the fame from TUF she can probably drop a couple without having to worry about getting cut.

I feel compelled to observe that challenges and rivals are a bit different though, Bill. While I have had a mega ton of challenges, to include being homeless in NYC, I haven't had as many rivals.
You know what the number one motivation for homicide worldwide is? Jealousy. With women its more about covetousness, and usually with men its about having rivals. Given that this is a combat sport, which is by nature more masculine than feminine (though these two particular beauties can easily mask that), I am not surprised that Ronda and Meisha are so rival driven.
I would rather face someone I had bad blood with rather than someone just for competition too because its easier to stay motivated and keep your eye on the clichéd prize.
