Gregory gave me the heads up to start a thread solely based on JMMA. So here it is. I'll mainly be focusing on everything JMMA oriented, so I'll continuously post cards, updates, results, info and more. Results will have their own separate threads. Enjoy your JMMA!

Ok have to bookmark this but you ruined my excitement that had been built up while reading the thread by your last post grizzly. I HATE 3 minute rounds. Prefer JMMA judging.

What I was referring to was THE OUTSIDER card. Their fights are 2 3 minute rounds.

All the other promotions are 2 or 3 5 minute rounds, depends on the importance of the fight.

THE OUTSIDER is 2 3 minute rounds because it's actually considered amateur MMA some of the fighters haven't even really done much MMA training and are gang members, street thugs, etc. who just like to fight and Akira Maeda decided them to let them fight in a ring and form a MMA promotion for them where they could fight freely without getting into trouble for it.

Good to see Ishii keeping busy. With Mosnon in that M-1 tournament i'm not sure he'll get that fight anytime soon.

Lots of finishes in OUTSIDER though, via if someone gets dropped they stop the fight.

They use a 10 count if you get dropped in THE OUTSIDER iirc, I haven't been able to watch the newer events as they're not available to us outside of Japan, so I don't know if they changed the rule set, don't think they have though.

You see any way for us to keep track of which fights will be 2x5 and which will be 3x5 before events? Other than those that are posted on the promoter sites. Shooto posts most of its major cards with round structures, as does Pancrase, but not DEEP, ZST or some of the others.

@grizzly You're right, I do remember being a count but I also remember fights just being stopped after someone gets dropped or sometimes for less.

@skeliher DEEP and Zst are almost always 2x5, unless it's a title fight or something.

Two questions.

1) Rin Nakai - any more come out about some dodgyness with her last fight against West? Last minute rule changes at best and match fixing at worst.

2) ZST - if/when they put on some tag team fights, can we pick em? :)
