I not saying he has, I am saying he would. And thats my point. Look at Sever for example. He got destroyed by Cerrone who Pettis just beat the crap out of and Sever is running house on FW division. There really little reason to assume Pettis would not to similar. And his current win streak is more impressive then anyone at FW currently out side aldo. So Again why shouldent he get a shot if he can make the weight?

Yes and? That was several fights ago and since then he beaten the crap out of people significantly better then Guida, who only beat him via lay and pray anyways. That was likely the worst Pettis that we have seen.

"MMAath, its whats for dinner..."
I agree MMA Math sucks. Hiowever it does some times have valid points. For example Sever is a striker. He been dominating through striking. He got completely out class by Cerrone via striking. Then Cerrone got out class by Pettis via striking. It not a stretch at all to assume Pettis striking ability>>Sever. So i don't really see why we can't assume Pettis would be a top dog in FW. When we seen several UFC LW drop to FW to become top dogs there. Kenny and Sever being the best examples..

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Siver and Pettis lose to both Guida and Mendes, hell even Lamas. Make them prove their selves instead of trying to cut the line.

"@wish "Dude Lauzon is all about BJJ. He has meh wrestling and great BJJ. Guida is a WRESTLER. Mendes is a WRESTLER. You know what Lauzon doesn't not have comparably to them? WRESTLING. Lamas is a much better WRESTLER than Lauzon. The Lauzon that lost to George Sotiropoulos."
No he not, that 100% false. Lauzon style is hybrid between wrestling and BJJ. He is not a stright BBJ user in fact, he only a purple belt (black belt level skills though). I not sure why you think he straight BBJ because he never has been. I not argueing about the other two I am talkign strictly guida. Yes guida pure wrestling is better, but he not better at taking people down which is my entire point. Pettis faced just as much of a take down threat on Lauzon as he did Guida. Lauzon lost to George after beating the **** out of him, man handling him both standing and grappling until he gassed. Not sure what your point is. Lauzon also subbed Mike Brown at FW in the first round.

"I could see the argument for grappling, but wrestling and TDs? Not even close."
Guida goes for way more take downs, but I don't believe he better at them. In fact Joe actaully has a better % success-rate for his take down attempts.

1. Lauzon had a total of 0 takedown attempt in that brief fight. Also my point was that Lauzon's BJJ far outweighs his wrestling when he fights. Never said he had no wrestling.
2.Pretty sure Lauzon used his entire gas tank in the first round of the fight meaning he was putting everything into his actions while G-Sot was calm and collected.
Iminari also subbed MTB, what does that have to do with anything.
3.The fact that Guida timed Pettis's strikes without too much trouble would make me think that other wrestlers in the FW division (much faster division) can do it.
4. Is there any reason not to make Pettis have 1 fight in the FW div. Are people afraid that Mendes, Lentz, Guida, Lamas, or Hioki would outwrestle him? I would assume many would be, so make him prove he deserves a title shot. Pettis is not a former UFC LW champion who had defended his belt multiple times, unlike Edgar.

I agree, and that one fight should be with Edgar for showing disrespect by calling Aldo out so soon after Frankie's "defeat". Edgar via R1 KTFO.

he was the WEC champion and would get a shot, but didn't. And now the champion is a guy that he beat. so stands to reason that he gets the FW shot if he wants to. Probably the idea is to fight for both titles and see if he wins one.
as for the fight, i think it would be harder to pick than Aldo vs Edgar. i dont remember anybody outstriking Pettis and i dont think Aldo would take him down. so it would be strength vs strength. dont know why people would complain about an amazing fight like that. this would probably make FW the most exciting division, as far as title fights.

@die,
He didn't beat THIS Bendo! I watched Hendersom fight in the WEC and there is no dount this version is significantly better. And even though he beat him then, with few lights shining on his achievement, I am sure anyone would rather take the UFC belt than the WEC belt, which did not transfer over.
