I think DC will finish Mir in the 2nd.  Mir has looked like a punching bag lately and it will only go to the ground if DC wants it to.

Avoiding submissions and defending submissions are two completely different things. Just because you havent been caught in a submission attempt doesnt mean you can fend one off. You dont say someone has a great chin if theyve never taken a punch due to good head movement. You say they have a great chin after they take a shot on the jaw

Cormier definitely doesn't want to go playing around on the ground with Mir, but it won't get close to getting that far.

He'll shrug off any take down attempts from Mir with ease.  Standing, Mir won't have an answer for Cormier's speed.

Mir never reacts well to getting punched in the face.  This won't last very long.

This one wont last long. Mir's takedowns are pure **** and he wont even come close to taking down Cormier, his only hope is to pull guard and honestly even if he does that I think Cormier will be able to control him. While I dont think Cormier has great standup, he does have a bit more power than Mir and as far as we can tell he takes a punch far better.

Mir might hang with DC for a little bit, but in the end I think DC pulls this one out.

I agree with the fact that Cormier speed is going to be to much for Mir. I would say Mir had a significant advantage in terms of technical striking prior to Cormier fight with Barnnett. However in that fight Cormier stirking looked pretty dam good. So though i believe Mir is technically a better striker with more well rounded tools. Cormier is improving at a very fats rate and his pure athleticism is on another level then Mir. He also has more power and a much better chin. I think Mir is going out within two rounds.

Mir just doesn't have the fighting spirit anymore. I think his sub of big nog was the last prominent thing he will do in his career. If Cormier had to rely on his wrestling alone, that might give Mir a chance but I think Daniel is just going to pick him apart the whe fight and win a convincing decision

Mir didn't even try in the JDS fight. When you give up that easily in a title fight, you have problems.

Cormier won't finish this. He barely finished Staring, and he's no where near the skill level Frank is. How many times did he get back to his feet? Mir is one of the best grapplers in the HW division. It's gonna be difficult for daniel to keep him down. If he's smart, he's not gonna clench with him. Which in this case he will most likely stand and try to bang, which Frank will also dominate.

He finished staring in the second round, that far from abrely finishing him. Also ABC logic does not really work. Just because starling is not as skilled does not mean Frank won't get finished. Frank chin is not as good as Staring. Staring had only been TKO once up until Cormier fight (and it was a doctor stoppage). Frank's not known for getting back to his feet he known for his submissions.  And Frank wrestling is ok, but no where remotely on Cormier level.  I don't think it be all that hard for Cormier to keep him down.  Why won't the Olympic level wrestler who top 3 wrestlers in MMA not want to clinch?  Frank dominating in the standup is unlikely. Cormier hits hard, has a much better chin and significantly faster.  Mir can win, but doubtful it a dominates of any type.

I think one thing people are kinda over looking is the size and strength advantage that Mir will have. When Mir got dominated by guys like Lesnar and Carwin they had a fairly significant size advantage.
I would not be surprised at all if Mir used his size advantage to get some kind of takedown from the clinch or pulling guard and getting a sub.

Barnett is bigger then Mir and is probably stronger and he was rag dolled by Cormier .

Cormier is deceptively strong. I was blown away when he slammed Barnett like he did.

Yea that was deff impressive.  Barnett much larger and stronger then Mir. He also a much better wrestler then Mir as well. Cormier will man handle him on the clinch and have no issues getting him down. However Mir is a submission threat more so then Barnett. Barnett is deff good at submissions but he not nearly the submission threat Mir is off his back nor does he have the explosive submissions that Mir has.  So Mir is more of a sub threat then Barnett was, but thats about it. Barnett is better then Mir pretty much everywhere else. So unless Mir pulls of a crazy submission off his back he likely not winning this.

Cormier is just a black Roy nelson. He won't even make contender status. Mir quite possibly will make quick work of him.

He has experience on his side, and has defeated opponents light years ahead of Cormier. Noguiera would beat him honestly. and this is no insult to Cormier. They should have matched him with someone of his potential like Nelson.

Sorry, but no offense when i say this. Put down the crack pipe. Mir aint beating DC. He has better striking, better wrestling, and better cardio. If you have those things over Mir. You can finish him inside 2 rounds

I agree with Traeblack. Only way Mir wins this is if Cormier plays stupid and tries to roll with Mir. Only thing bad about this is Cormier with be diagnosed with the Mir curse.
