Cormier is gonna pick Frank Mir apart.

Bad match up for Murr, if DC doesn't want this on the ground it ain't going there. And Murr's stand up in his recent fights just looked to slow and sloppy that I give him not really a chance there.

DC via KO, pretty safe pick...

I think Cormier might want this to hit the mat. look what Lesnar was able to do to Mir with wrestling. And Cormier is a better wrestler.  Cormier via brutal GnP

Mir's getting KTFO'd in this one. Cormier is always improving and I expect him to dominate this fight.

Mir isn't on the same level as Cormier,  Cormier's hands are to fast and his wrestleing is the best in mma.  I love frank Mir but Cormier will dominate this wherever it goes

Haven't really seen Cormier's submission defense. Mir will test that for sure.

I'd die laughing if Cormier really has no submission defense and gets submitted by everyone and fades into oblivion. XP

I'd say wins over Barnett and Monson prove he has decent submission defense but I honestly can't remember either one threatening with a submission, they were too busy being tossed around and punched.

Mir should be training two things only, standing kimuras and pulling guard because that´s the only options for him to have a shot at wining the fight

@CthulhuJones. You are correct. Neither Monson or Barnett threatened with a real submission. In fact, I don't even believe the Monson fight even went to the ground, or if it did, it was very brief.

We can say he's good at avoiding bad spots because he is, but I won't comment on Cormier's SUB D until I see someone get a good hold on his neck or limbs

If someone gets a good hold on Cormier's neck or limbs, that's because Cormier has bad submission defense. The fact that he has never been seen in a position to be submitted in could just be because of his submission defense.

I think this is a little closer than people think. Mir is not a bad striker, he's just not a top level one. The thing that interests me here is that Frank is not necessarily a grappler who needs the takedown, which would be impossible against Cormier. He knows that basically his only shot at getting a sub is off his back, i'm definitely expecting him to try it. Not sure who to pick yet.

I think Mir does have a chance but it's a very slim one, what I think Mir has working for him is that  he is a very resourceful fighter and is tough to finish, plus you can never really count him out, just ask Lesnar and Big Nog, but the thing is that Cormier can easily dictate the fight, and he has more power and a better chin than Mir, this is going to be a tough fight for both of them, but Mir is going to take the worst part

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I haven't seen all of Cormier's fights, but has his chin ever really been tested?  I haven't seen anything to support that his chin is better than Mir's necessarily.
