@Signal1, I think Sonnen outstriked Silva more due to the fact that Silva was injured and wasn't really expecting that from Chael.

Before their first fight Silva was on cruise-control for quite a while, it was Sonnen that kinda woke him up to the fact that there is actually a possibility that he can lose ... but same here, its just my opinion, I'm not saying you're wrong.

Silva has the tendency to play with his opponents ... Jones doesn't do that. I think Silva knew that Chael had no striking whatsoever and that he was on this role where no one could touch him and suddenly found himself in a war. I seriously don't think Chael could outstrike Silva ever again. That was a one time thing due to some stars aligning (namely, rib injury + complacent Silva + Chael's non-existent standup before that fight).

One thing I do give Chael ... he's going to be the first fighter in a long time who isn't going to get in the cage with Jones scared ... he's going to bring it. Most fighters lose their fights to Jones at the walk-in.

Jones sort of does play with his opponents, but not as blatantly as Anderson. During the Rampage and Belfort fights (and the Rashad fight to an extent), I was just waiting for him to end it. The Belfort fight especially. He kind of just toyed with him until he got bored it seemed, and slapped on the americana

I don't think Jones toyed with Rashad at all. That fight was the most reserved that Jones has been. You could tell he respected Rashad's striking speed and wrestling ability. He may have planned on toying with Vitor until he almost got his arm broke. I'll give it to you he pretty much got bored and toyed with Shogun, Rampage and Machida.

I think this could be quite competitive. If Chael sticks to his wrestling he could put Jones on his back at will imo. But of course, Jones is the more complete fighter and will probably get a submission victory here.

Chael had trouble holding ****ping down, and also got taken down himself. Sonnen is not putting Bones on his back at will lol this is gonna be a one sided beatdown, and seeing Sonnen all bloody, and tapping to another submission will bring joy to me life.

If there's one thing Michael Bisping does better than anything, it's defensive wrestling. Don't hate on Chael.

I doubt he'll takedown Bonesy but if anyone can, it's him.

Chael WILL NOT take Bones down AT ALL during this fight. I'd put money on that.

Sonnen will take Jones down, but he's not enough of an offensive threat to beat him in a five-rounder. His wrestling will make the first round or two competitive.

Doesn't necessarily mean Sonnen can because Sonnen initially fought at middleweight whereas Anthony Johnson always fights at Rumbleweight.

"If the world were able to see what’s going on in training camp -- how he's looking, how he’s performing -- I think [the] odds would change really quick. But what they’re doing, what most people do, is they look at his last year or so, his last fight and they write him off as a result of that. They look at maybe some headlines and they write him off as a result of that.... Chael's 10 years older, and it’s the big brother mentality, you know? Chael's been beating up guys like Jon Jones his whole life, his whole career, and that’s the mentality we have going into it. He’s going to beat the piss out of Jon Jones for 25 minutes no matter what.... It’s going to be a nasty machine, and we’re training Chael for 25 minutes of non-stop aggression; no matter what gets broken, no matter what gets ripped open, no matter what part of his body gets torn off, no matter how much blood is there, no matter how many bones crack. We are pushing him and training him to power through that, and I don’t think Jon is prepared to power through that.... Chael's going to walk across the cage to give Jon Jones a big ole' wedgie, and freaking give him a noogie, and Jon’s not going to be able to do anything about it. That’s the type of fight we're looking for." - Mike Dolce

It doesn't matter if he is fighting bears, sharks and crocodiles with his bare hands Jones is still going to beat the piss out of him. anyone who has seen me post about Sonnen knows I don't like him but believe me this is the one fight I wish he could win, but he won't

Chael's one of the best wrestling in MMA, if there's anyone who can take Jones down, it's Chael. It sucks he has pillows for hands, because with some power in those hands, he could develop into a threat, his ground & pound is weak though.

Chael might take Jones down at least once in the fight, but Jones is going to beat him.

The problem with this fight is deciding on how Jones is going to beat Sonnen.

The thing with most of Jones' opponents is that they seem to be hesitant to engage him, be it because of his reach or skill or whatever. In fact, the only time I can think of in his recent fights where his opponent was aggressive was Machida in the first round and look what happened...Machida was rocking him.

Chael is not going to be scared; he wasn't scared with Anderson and that's why he was able to do what he did in the first fight. He WILL land strikes on Jones and he WILL put him on his back, that I can guarantee. Will he be able to get the W though? Right now I'm leaning towards no, I'm sure Jones will get right back up after each takedown, and his striking will be too much for Chael.

I wish Sonnen would get injured so Gus could get his title shot when his cut heals up.
