TAPOLOGY TALKS: PRO WRESTLING

That's right, in another edition of Tapology Talks we bring to you pro wrestling! I've seen individual threads on pro wrestling, I've seen pro wrestling talk litter all over the "Slow Days" thread so why don't we try to manage the talk?

And what better way than to open up a Tapology Talks thread, amirite?

So to start the conversation, who here's a pro wrestling fan, when were you introduced to pro wrestling, your favorite wrestlers, etc. etc?

I became a pro wrestling fan in 2008, my first match I ever saw was WWE Raw with CM Punk vs MVP, my favorite wrestlers are CM Punk, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Daniel Bryan. I'm starting to watch pro wrestling again because CM Punk's slowly turning heel, and that's great news.

How bout you?

Yeah NXT delivered big time. 

ROH in brooklyn was also tonight but they didnt have it up for purchase on their site it will be up at a later time  . im guessing it may be because of NXT being on tonight probably thought not many would buy it but imo it was the best card by far out of the 3 shows this weekend it had ..

Okada vs Strong (Goat match)
Lethal/Nakamura vs ReDRagon
Briscoes vs Time Splitters
Goto vs Elgin
Cole vs Daniels
ACH,Sydal,Young Bucks vs RPG Vice and Kingdom
Killer Elite Squad vs War Machine
and a 8 man Gaunlet match between Adam Page,Cedric alexander,Dalton Castle(the GOAT),Dijak,Kazarian ,Moose,Silas Young and Watanabe 

easily a much better card  everyone one of those matches will deliver . every match will be full of holy **** moments 

JON STEWART GOAT !!!!  that was awesome . seth pulled out the babyface moveset in that match 

this match is amazing !!!! 

and This was great haha 

Ha hell yeah that mock laughter moment was great, loved the match just not sure about the screwy finish but man they exceeded my expectations bravo.

2K16: Kidd/Cesaro + the Vaudevillains (**** Yes) entrance.

TIME TO MARK THE **** OUT!!!!

Yeah that might have been the best Raw in the last year or so

The Dudleys made me **** myself, and I'm not even upset about it.

Question to all the big Japanese pro wrestling fans of tapology:

How do other organizations like AJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH compare to NJPW?  Both in terms of the quality of the product and in popularity?  I ask because Japan has so many wrestling companies, and yet the only one that stands out the most in countries outside of Japan is NJPW.

NJPW stands out because it's Consistently the best pro wrestling Org in the world the last few years . they are responsible for imo the best 3 and in some fans 4 or 5 matches of the year so far in pro wrestling.it's the WWE of Japan they have all the top stars like Tanahashi,Okada and aj styles who are some of the best pro wrestlers in the world .then you got huge fan favorites like Ibushi,Ishii,makabe,naito,Jushin Liger,Omega,TigerMask,Kushida,KojimaNakamura,and Goto they fill out the mid card and deliver every single PPV. they have had 1 Meh ppv all year where WWE has had 1 great ppv all year being Wrestlemania and the rest being pretty bad or having 1 or 2 good matches,and NJPW's version of Wrestlemania,Wrestle Kingdom **** all over Wrestlemania.It was one of the best cards in pro wrestling in years . NJPW also has always done super shows in the 90s with WCW,mid 2000s with TNA and now with ROH so helps them get noticed having huge names come over and wrestle for them then they send some over as well to compete in those orgs..

AJPW has been whatever for awhile i dont even really know anyone there besides Ultimo Dragon,and i rarely hear of them on wrestling forums or from other wrestling fans i speak to . like i said all the big talent goes to NJPW, and for pro wrestling NOAH they are good im not personally big on them but a lot of Wrestling fans really enjoy them.NOAH at least has big names like SuzukiGun but they often dominate shows, like for Example SuzukiGun holds every title right now with Minoru as the heavyweight,Killer Elite Squad(archer and Davey boy jr) are the Tag champions , Taichi is the junior heavyweight and Taka Michinoku and El Desperado are the Junior Tag champions, they have some other awesome guys too like one of my favorites shelton benjamin .it's worth watching but it's nothing compared to NJPW .

NJPW is also the easiest to get access too with NJPWWorld.com which is there version of the wwe network,classic ppvs and matches with names like Hulk Hogan,Inoki,Vader,Lou Thesz,Fujinami,Dusty Rhodes,muta,flair ,Hashimoto,Chono.toriginals and of course all current ppvs and shows,which includes all the G-1 Climax events which would cost you about 160 bucks to order on ppv it is close to a  month long event so its not that bad but with NJPWworld its under 10 bucks .there library goes back to 1973 which is when they took off as an org

but yea overall the history of NJPW is just too strong with all the legendary matches they have had which is why they stand out for japanese wrestling orgs. .and i dare you to watch a current NJPW ppv and say it's boring. I DARE YOU .

@gunn I would never call NJPW boring.  NJPW is what brought me back into pro wrestling.  I'm just curious about other orgs in Japan, because it feels like Japanese pro wrestling seems to be where all the best pro wrestling is right now.

it wasn't directly at you just anyone lol .i signed up for njpwworld earlier this year. and i really enjoy it bunch of classic matches i had never seen before i got to watch from the 70's and 80's

Japan also has DragonGate which is one of the more popular orgs among Wrestling Fans  and actually i see it get mentioned much more then NOAH and i personally watch it more too . they have also put on some great cards this year that are worth a watch !!

The entire ROH Field of Honor PPV is up on YT ... for now  . Okada vs strong just became one of my favorite matches this year .

here it is for those who haven't seen it yet ..

Does anyone remember a show called 'Smash'? It used to show ex or non WWF wrestlers. It was the late 80s. It was on Friday or Saturday around 10 pm. No one I know,seems to remember this. I remember seeing One Man Gang on the show. It was hosted by some chic with dyed hair. Anyone?
