I don't think that Tim Boetch won against Lombard. I'm actually pretty upset about it.

Congrats to Tim Boetch for finding a way to derail the hype train of Hector Lombard.  That he did it with a broken foot is especially impressive.  Good for him.  He will now move up in stature and prestige.

Lombard showed to me last night that he never going to be a top 5 middle weight. He going to either be 8-10 or on the out skirts of the top 10 middle weights. He two small and his conditioning is not good enough because of all the extra bulk he has. He will be a threat to most anyone due to his power he might make some big upsets, but out side of that he gunna get beat in decisions.  He could not even out strike Boetsch who far from an elite striker in the middle weight division.

@Franklin  From what you said, you made Hector sound like Melvin Guillard.  Dana suggested that Hector is maybe too small for MW, and perhaps should consider moving down to WW.

Does anyone else think that?  If Lombard moved down, that could set up some intriguing matches.  Would just savor him fighting GSP or Nick Diaz or Jon Fitch or . . . You get the idea.

I thought Lombard looked huge and Tim looked kind of overweight..You would think that all of the money , conditioning and nutrition , one could have a decent body...I understand you can't judge a book by its cover but still..Lombard looked big to me?

If Lombard and GSP were to ever face off, I'd guarantee a finish for GSP. No doubt.

Neither guy should be proud of their performance here, especially Lombard. He just kind of stood there the whole time. He's too damn short to hang with some of these guys at 185, but he's just stocky. Kind of a tough spot for him to be in, i really doubt he'd be able to get to 170.

the decision could of went ether way.. but all boestch landed was leg kicks and push kicks, lombard landed the punches, hurt him with a kick and stuffed every takedown.. but back to my main point... all lombard had to do was put some pressure on cuz boestch clearly didnt want to engage with lombard, and lombards conditioning was fine he kept the same pace the whole fight and also did not sit between rounds, and he has to much muscle he culd not cut to WW but anyways, im terribly baffled by what his game plan was? especially because him and his corner were laughing after round 1? and just a side not... lombard is a gold medalist for judo so whoever thinks gsp would take him down is mistaken...

@sgtblack Bisping does not deserve a title shot. Losing your last fight and not beating any top 10 competetion does not warrant a title shot. Bisping has a big mouth and he loves to talk about who doesn't deserve a title shot but what he may not realize is he's one of those guys that doesn't.

Weidman looked awesome and dominated a top 3 mw in Munoz. Also for whatever it's worth he beat Maia easily. With no clear cut #1 contender I'd say give it to Weidman and see what he can do. They did it with Jonny Bones Jones and it turned out pretty well I'd say.

@ladylover I think Lombard was overconfident, if he would've pressured Boetsch a little more he would've taken the fight easily Boetsch didn't had much of an offense most of his strikes were legkicks that didn't seem to cause much damage, Lombard hurt him with big punches. it was not a good fight for either one of them, but I think Lombar will surprise a lot of people in his next fight, I think we'll get to watch the explosive and impressive Lombard in the octagon, and ppl will forget all about this fight. which it doesn't have much to remember anyway

Very astute Bill. Hector Lombard is the 185 pound Melvin Guillard.
