Wolf you're right the markets make it hard for the Royals to spend, but they have the right to spend if they want to invest in the team...The beautiful thing about sports is unless you're in LA a winning team draws a crowd! Most fans are fair weather and will spend their money on a winning product...Not too many are like me a spend money watching a 4-12 football team and less liekly to go when the team is winning!

Like Poir said Harrison, James are pretty damn talented, Dallas Clark is an old 32 so I agree he probably won't be the HoF TE he was! Dominic Rhodes should have been the Super Bowl MVP for the Colts...Freeney is possibly the greatest pass rusher in the history of the game and in todays NFL the pass rush is a hell of a lot more important then stuffing the run...Bob Sanders (his 2 years he was healthy) was a HoF on the football field. Gary Brackett is one of the most underrated players in the history of the game.

Smoke and mirrors. Colts have 0 interest in RG3, but want you to think different.

We are taking Luck, it's a done deal. As far as your argument Soccerkick, one of the years Sanders was healty we DID win the Superbowl, so that just helps my argument. Dallas Clark is a good TE, but he is a product of Peyton Manning, you may not notice it watching SC, but I have watched every Colts game for the last 10 years, Peyton puts the ball in places consistently that I've never seen any other QB do in my life. Dallas would have never been a probowler without Peyton manning. I mean what happened to Stokely when he lost Manning, he dropped off the face of the planet, same will happen with Garcon and Gonzalez and Collie. Peyton will be vindicated when the Broncos win the Superbowl this year.

Same could be said for Brady. Look at how well the super bowl MVP Deion Branch did going to another team.

As for that last sentence I hope you're right buddy! But to say PM had no talent around him is a little off...If you want to see a QB with no talent around him go look at the rosters of the first 3 teams Elway lead to the Super Bowl!

@poir come on now, Brady went out for the year and they went 11-5, please don't try to compare the Pats without Brady to the Colts without Manning.

Well please don't try to make it sound like Brady is a product of the people around him. Brady is a great quarterback regardless of who is on the team. He didn't have the best WR's or RB's when he won 3 super bowls.

I rarely agree with Messiah, but I must say that Manning has been the best QB of this era, and probably ever. Brady has had arguably the best offensive line in football for the majority of the last 8 years. Brady is a very good QB, but if you gave him the same weapons that Manning has had, I don't believe that he would have been nearly as successful. While there have been several good players for the Colts during Manning's time, I wouldn't say that he's had nearly as much to work with as Brady has. The best comparison is looking at the Colt's with/out Manning and Pats with/out Brady.
Manning:
2009- 16-3 Lost in Super Bowl
2010- 10-7 Lost in the wildcard game
2011- 2-14 Didn't make the playoffs (w/o Manning)
Brady:
2006- 14-4 Lost in Conference Championship
2007- 18-1 Lost in the Super Bowl
2008- 11-5 Didn't make the playoffs (w/o Brady)
2009- 10-7 Lost in wildcard game
It's pretty clear to me that Manning is more important to his team than Brady is to the Pats.

the difference in Pats and Colts is that Bellichik builds a better overall team than the Colts ever have. The Colts have relied strictly on Manning, never providing him a running game, especially after they let Edge leave town. Their defense has always been susceptible to the run. As far as offensive lines go, Manning has had a boss O-Line centered around Jeff Saturday for the life of his career, so on that front they are equals. Manning has always had better receivers, Harrison, Wayne, Clark, the white guys. Brady has had good receivers and you saw what he was capable of when he was teamed with a Phenom on the outside when him and Moss destroyed the league and now with the spread receivers they have you see him working a completely different offense. Something Manning has never done is run a different style of offense, he has ran the same thing so long he could do it blindfolded. I think people fail to realize how much brady has transformed with what Bellichik wants to do. The Colts just did what Manning was comfortable with.
Some people put Brady ahead because he has won more Super Bowls, which for me is more based on how the team was built. Manning is by far the most cerebral QB to have played the game. Brady is a guy that has worked his ass off to get to where he is now.
We also must remember that the game is built for passing and offense now. The league has handcuffed defenders and made it more like arena league with the scoring. Which is why for me the records of Marino's that got broke last year, doesn't really mean ****, in my opinion. If Marino played in the rules set today he would throw for 7600 yards. As good as this group of QB's is, Marino is the best spinner of the pigskin to have ever played.
