Johny Hendricks would literally **** Rory MacDonald. I'm annoyed that he's getting a title shot but I really don't see any other options to be quite honest.

I think Rory beats either guy, but actually would have a tougher out against Lawler than Hendricks. Granted, these three can beat each other on any given night.

@skelliher Wait wait wait wait wait...you think Rory MacDonald could beat Hendricks AND Lawler?

What the **** happened, did I miss something? I don't remember seeing a Rory MacDonald that could outwrestle a Johny Hendricks. I don't remember seeing a Rory MacDonald that's cleaned up his boxing game to the point where he could beat a Johny Hendricks or a Robbie Lawler. I don't even remember seeing a Rory MacDonald with a fight IQ that rivals any of those guys'.

Seriously, what the **** happened? When did all of the hype come back? Was a win over Saffiedine really THAT impressive (and this is coming from a HUGE Saffiedine fan)?

Rory did put on a pretty crappy fight with Ellenberger. But he paid for his mistakes against Lawler, had a really good fight with Maia, outclassed Woodley, and smashed Tarec Saffiedine on the feet.

Rory gets smashed by either guy (already did by Lawler). Kind of stupid that the challenger gets the home field if this does end up going down in Canada

@Franklin can confirm that I've thought Rory was better than both guys for a long time. Lawler beat him fair and square; I don't see it happening as easily again.

Rory is a huge WW, and he's rangey. He's got an excellent jab and great defensive techniques, making it tough for a guy like Hendricks to get through the Shield. He outwrestled Woodley with ease and while Hendricks is better, I don't think he could keep Rory down or do anything to him on the ground. I see Rory peppering Hendricks from range, timing him when he leaps in with the left and making him work hard on the TDs.

Idk. Will be interesting, but that's just how I see it and I'll own it if I'm completely off the mark.

I do think Rory vs. Lawler is a pickem' any time they fight. I'd instal Rory as like a -150 over Hendricks and even money with Lawler.

Lawler didn't smash Rory, it was a pretty close fight. I'm not sure what to think about a Lawler-Rory rematch but I think Rory would have a good chance to win. Hendricks, I'm not so sure.

@skelliher Hm, do you not remember the last time Johny Hendricks went up against a guy known for his use of a timed jab? Do you not remember the last time Rory MacDonald went up against a true southpaw boxer who exposed his lack of a straight right?

Johny Hendricks gets way too much flack in my eyes. He's one of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of the NCAA, he's got a heck of a chin and more importantly, he's gone from someone who swings with reckless abandon (see Jon Fitch, or when he was unsuccessful with it in rounds 2 and 3 of the Josh Koscheck fight) into a very polished boxer. Hendricks completely exposed Georges St-Pierre's minimalist boxing game and I don't see how he wouldn't have trouble doing the same with Rory Mac.

As for people giving Lawler more of a shot against Rory than Johny Hendricks, my face is just like "***?" Johny Hendricks is hands-down the best wrestler in the division, he's definitely one of the top 3 strikers in the division and people still don't give him credit where it's due.

If Hendricks can't outstrike Rory (which I HIGHLY doubt; Rory's jab isn't even on the same level as GSP's and Hendricks was able to completely nullify it), he will have no problem getting the takedown.

EDIT: If skelliher's odds end up happening, I'm going to laugh my ass off to the bank. -150? HA. Rory MacDonald ain't winning ****. I bet Ben Askren would beat the **** out of him too.

If Damian Maia can take Rory down and control him on the ground for any amount of time, Askren (and likely Hendricks) could beat him up and do their taxes at the same time.
