As much as we all want to see certain fights, I think people kinda need to accept the UFC is a business and will do what they need to do for money and ratings. Sonnen may not deserve the shot, but it will at least be fun to watch, I'm personally interested to see how Jones deals with Chael's style as I expected Rashad to shoot a few takedowns before he started playing patty cake ;) Plus at least TUF will have some golden moments :D just my opinion, I can understand why people are not happy with it but the comparisons to WWE and stuff are a little bit over the top. Side note WWE pulls millions of dollars per year, has pretty high ratings consistantly and has globally renowned superstars aka house hold names, so perhaps the UFC does want to be a little more like WWE in that sense ;) peace out hombres :D

Casual fans are not sitting at home on a friday night watching TUF so appealing to them again is just a waste of time.

I'd be choked about Chael getting a title shot if it weren't for the fact that there aren't any top contenders that Jones hasn't already beaten.  Well, Henderson I guess, but Lyoto will probably eliminate him from contention.

This is good for TUF, higher profile coaches means better ratings.  I'm already way more interested in this upcoming season than I have been for any recent season.  Both guys are intriguing, and I look forward to learning more about them through the show.

Who fights Forrest now? Phil Davis vs. Forrest Griffin? Then have Machida vs. Henderson as the Co-main event for UFC 155.

I'd like to see Davis/Griffin. Or at the very least Hamill/Griffin.

Wow, so Dana must REALLY be PISSED at JJ for 151 still. I say that because do you realize how much trash and smack Sonnen will be talking between now and April, along with while on TUF. Def one way to get TUF ratings up. put Motor mouth Sonnen on it. Lol

Late response @MadMike My comment was only for the people voicing their opinions in a semi extreme manner. If you really hate Dana White or what the UFC is doing right now, you always have the option of choosing not to support it as a consumer, and I totally understand why people are upset. It's due to guys getting title shots on name alone, or by talking their way into it, or whatever else is keeping legitimate title fights from happening. This is business as usual for the UFC though. I honestly don't see how people are still surprised that these things occur after the entire Brock Lesnar ordeal. As many others have stated, the UFC is just a business looking out for their best interest when it comes to making money, and unfortunately that doesn't always equate to having the top guys in a division fight. I agree that Chael has done nothing inside the octagon to make himself anywhere near a top contender at 205, but he's able to market himself and bring in a ton of revenue from PPVs due to his ability to hype a fight. Then on the opposite side of the spectrum you have a guy like Alexander Gustaffson who you rarely hear about unless he's just fought. He's improved leaps and bounds and has actually earned that fight, but apparently the money isnt there... It's a shame that money is the main underlying goal for most of the people involved in the UFC, but it is.

If Nick Diaz called out GSP on a consistent basis starting today, he'd could get a title shot immediately after his suspension.

It makes me laugh how several of you think Chael and Toothpick legs doing TUF means fighters are gonna get paid more.  As long as fighters only negotiate contracts with the UFC they will never get paid better. the reason people in other sports get more money is because the team is concerned they could take their talents elsewhere which begins a negotiation process.  The UFC has brainwashed fighters into thinking that they are the only organization ultimately taking any bargaining chips the fighter had away.

Bibiano Fernandez used the right strategy and leveraged a better payday out of ONEFC and walked away from a deal with the UFC because he got more money elsewhere.  Once other fighters realize that there is quality competition around the world and they can catch a paycheck then the FIGHTERS WILL GET PAID MORE.

Up and coming fighters use this dumb logic that they want to compete against the best regardless of the paycheck, which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.  Why in Odin's name would you get the piss kicked out of you for peanuts when you could do the same thing for Pistachios down the road?
