And here's a quote from Dana awhile back about Chael and the title shot.

http://www.mmamania.com/2012/8/21/3258099/ufc-dana-white-chael-sonnen-jon-jones-forrest-griffin

"He's a long way away. He's not coming off the (Anderson) Silva fight and just talking his way into a 205-pound world title shot. [Sonnen] is going to have to beat a couple of the best in the world. If he beats Forrest Griffin, we'll shoot him right into the top five and let him fight some of those guys there, and we'll see what happens."

"“All of a sudden, he was shooting for a takedown, and I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re a wrestler now? Remember, I’m the black belt in jiu-jitsu. And you’re shooting on me now? This is a wrap." - Nate Diaz"

I posted a thing about Super Hulk tournaments yesterday. Looks like Jones is fighting another dude who hasnt dipped into Light Heavyweight contention in years! I love Chael, don't get me wrong but the dude is 0-1 at Light Heavyweight and is coming off of a loss even if it was against the best there is.

Jones also stated he didnt wanna fight DC because he wasnt a big enough name yet. When he gets a couple of UFC fights in or actually fights and beats Mir, Jones will continue to dance around it again and make another excuse.

The fact that Silva is running from Weidman now is laughable as well. Silva has nothing left to prove in my opinion but dodging and choosing your opponents is pretty damn weak.

Well, it should be an entertaining season with Sonnen on there.

As far as the fight goes....this is a serious mismatch.  Chael is going to look like a little kid out there trying to wrassle his dad.  Jones by TKO or submission, round 1.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Chael retires after Jones wrecks him.

@AnAlias agreed, Sonnen will most likely pay for his big mouth again. 1st rd finish sounds about right.

On the flipside he will get paid a lot too.

Months of TUF hype to watch a mismatch? How exciting. Chael doesn't deserve a title shot (just start listing LHWs and you'd find someone that does over him) but since he's a marketable fighter that's all that matters, they just need someone to crack corny jokes to boost the ratings of that awful show.

I'm not going to get bent about Chael hopping to the front of the line.  These two are going to bring a ton of people to the TUF audience and it's going to be entertaining as hell.  Sure Chael doesn't deserve a shot, but there's been enough trash talking between the two to make it worth watching for me.  People will pay to see this, and the UFC is a business, it's pretty simple really.  I do feel bad for Hendo moreso than anyone, but I'm sure Chael and Hendo talked before this deal got done.  Gus has plenty of time left to get his shot, and Glover was still a fight away from a shot anyway.  Don't let this upset you guys so much, it's going to be a fun season to watch and Jones has time to get to the rest of the contenders once he beats(probably) Chael.

Chael doesn't deserve this title shot but at the same time do you really want to see Jones wreck Machida again....No thanks. The other option is Hendo and at 42 years old I love him but he has a punchers chance of beating Jones and it would most likely be another dominating display for JBJ.

We've questioned Jones' mental toughness and Chael is the king of breaking someone down mentally and he's going to have an entire season of TUF to throw Jones off his game. I don't think Chael wins this but it will be fun to watch and a whole hell of a lot more interesting then Jones vs any other lhw.

Jon Jones on his back is going to look like a fish out of water and I'm going to laugh when he gets ridden to a 5 round beating while living on the canvas.

I like the down arrow for saying Jones is done finishing people in the 1st round.  Just the facts people.  Jon Jones has 2, count them 2 1st round finishes in the UFC.  Those being the Janitor and Vera.  Please be honest with yourselves and understand Jones isnt FINISHING anyone in the 1st round AGAIN.
