It's @Saveus confirmed. Chael Sonnen will be pulled from his UFC 155 bout with Forrest Griffin to coach TUF opposite LHW champion Jon Jones.

so returning to a division you havnt faught in since 2005, we're 0-1 as a ufc lhw before dropping, and comming off a loss in a lower weight class is enough to get a title shop these days?

Interesting, must not be too many light heavyweights who are up for fighting Jones right now.

People probably won't like that Sonnen would be getting the instant title shot, but really I don't see much reason to complain right now.  The UFC's light heavyweight division has been pretty silent in terms of calling out Jon Jones.  Both Machida and Shogun turned down the fight on a month's notice.  If Sonnen is one of the few guys willing to accept, I'm all for it.

Sonnen will be as amusing whoever he's against.
I just dont think he should get a title shot. 
It could be used as a way of getting one of the newer prospects wider exposure to casual fans-
Sonnen VS gustavson - Gus gets more public exposure and thus built towards a title challenger and if sonnen can win then he's got a legitimate claim to being a contender.


or better Sonnen VS Glover - sonnen can use all his brazilan jokes, then get his face destroyed at the end of the season, id love that. If glover wins then he's beat a "big name", if sonnen wins then hes beat the guy the former champions duck and again seems a more legitimate title challenger

Is Anderson Silva a LHW now, and Jon Jones is MW? This is Jone's 2nd MW who dosen't really deserve a title shot in a row. Awesome!

This is ********. Ratings ploy for TUF, plain and simple. Hendo should be fighting JBJ, then Machida should be getting the winner. ******* Chael is great at jamming up divisions. On a positive note, lulz will be plentiful.

I give Sonnen credit.  He wants to fight the best.  I can't say the same for Jon Jones.  

What happened to the title dreams of Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira?

How and why did Chael get to jump them in the queue?  Same old UFC.  Same old ********.

TUF 16 ratings for the last episode was a series worst at 624,000 viewers. TUF needs an entertainment injection to keep the interest up. I like this move by the Zuffa brass. Chael (love him or hate him) knows how to promote a fight and casual fans will tune in just to hear what he has to say. Story lines make good TV and these two coaching against each other is sure to stir the pot

This is just the UFC telling every fighter at 205 that you need to be able to talk your way into a title shot, and not earn it. Sonnen loses a title fight at 185, and his next fight is a title fight at 205? A division he is 0-1 in, and hasnt fought there in years. All because they want good TUF ratings? This is such a ******* joke
