I figured Tapology needs an official NFL thread, for all talks related to the NFL. Sick of seeing random topics on the Peyton Manning thread.

So please discuss the NFL here, thanks everyone.

Sorry Brother. I made the mistake of telling a guy to start V-Jax over Roddy White once and Roddy KILLED IT!!

He never forgave me. I'm just looking out for your best interest.

Breakout Year

My pick for breakout a year is Jamaal Charles.  I think he finishes in the top 2-3 RBs.

Receiver- Malcolm Floyd finishes in the top 15 receivers and leads Rivers comeback year.

Tight End-Aaron Hernandez finishes top 2 TE with Jimmy Grahmm

QB-Jay Cutler In a pass happy division where you need to score, added Marshall and has a great RB for catching balls out of the back field.

Who you guys got?

That is a ******* lame ass breakout pick, no offense. That's like me saying "My epic prediction of the year is that Tom Brady will finish as one of the top 3 QBs". Everyone knows Jamaal Charles is pretty much a lock for 1300 yards sans injury, you're talking like as if he's some obscure back no one knows about.

Vincent Brown's a better receiver than Malcolm Floyd in my opinion but Rivers will definitely bounce back this year.

Aaron Hernandez has Rob Gronkowski, never go against a guy who has 27TDs in 32 games.

Jay Cutler WILL have an awesome year, Bear Down *******.

I won't be as brutal as our pal @Anik... but that is a "safe" pick for breakout pick.  I'll go w/ Ryan Williams.. he's healthy & I think this will be a great year for him given the QB situation.

My RB breakout pick of the year is Donald Brown. I had him picked as my breakout RB since the first fantasy football draft I did in July and I'm not gonna turn back on my word now. I think Hillis is gonna have an unexpectedly great season too and so will Toby Gerhart.

For wide receivers, I'm really liking Kevin Ogletree, Titus Young (I think Megatron's gonna suffer a  decline this season, Madden Curse amigo) and I think Dwayne Bowe's gonna have a great season (but that's not exactly a breakout pick).

My tight end breakout pick is gonna go to Brent Celek (I don't know if that counts though), I think Joel Dressen's gonna have an unexpectedly decent season and Tony Moeki of the Chiefs is gonna bounce back from last season's injury.

For QBs, Philip Rivers bounces back and Jay Cutler ******* THRIVES! BEAR DOWN *******! WAR FITCH! BEAR DOWN!

Rivers is awesome. You gotta love that throwing motion, looks like he's throwing a handball.

Cutler's got actually WRs this season.

I'm SO glad that Brees did not stay in SD. Granted, obliterating his shoulder was why he was released, but it made it even sweeter when he came back and dominated the **** out of everyone. If only he had a defense. lol

I still miss the days of Ryan Leaf though. That was just comedy gold, but I think that is due to be not liking the Chargers for no apparent reason. I think it might be to River's douchyness.

@Kalibo He's always had weapons? I've watched every Bears game in the last two seasons, what have you watched?

Cutler's had a bunch of WR3s to throw at since he's been in Chicago. His leading receivers were Devin Hester (who's ridiculously fast but short and has bad hands), Johnny Knox (see Hester but shorter) and Earl Bennett (decent hands, no speed, an average slot receiver at best).

Always had weapons, my ass. He's had weapons like Barry Sanders had weapons.

Uh... you just showed your noobness @Anik... I was talking about Rivers!  But then again.. my post wasn't specific enough.. so my bad.

@Kalibo No you showed YOUR noobness, I was talking about Cutler's weapons and then you made a comment about weapons without saying which QB so this is all your fault. It was reasonable for me to assume you were talking about Cutler.

But yea, Rivers has always had weapons and he's done well with them. Didn't he post like 3 seasons of 100+ QB rating in a row? That's ******* elite. He was tied for most TDs in 2008, tied for 6th in 2009 and 5th in 2010. In his down year he was still 8th in TDs and 6th in yardage.

Rivers is elite.

When it comes to Rivers, I ask "What have you done for me lately?".

Last year it was 20 interceptions and 9 fumbles. Not exactly elite in my book.

27 TDs and 4600 passing yards too.

And that was a bad year. He will be back.
