He says it wont be Josh Thomson but he does know who he is fighting. Rumors are flying around twitter that it might be a UFC fighter going over to fight him

cesar gracie just tweeted he's hoping for bj or pettis. i can't see either of them wanting to go to sf to fight gilbert. not because they don't want to fight him, but because it'd be better to bring gil to them

If BJ goes to Strikeforce to fight melendez at 155, I would be happy...BJ in SF at 155 is 100 times better than BJ at 170 in the UFC. Maybe that's just me.

No it would make sense for BJ, for Pettis not so much. What are they gonna do if Pettis wins that title they had to keep the winner over there Pettis doesn't want this I could imagine.

This event is likely to take place in San Jose, so I'm happy.

I think it would be stupid to bring pettis over, hes still a contender in the ufc. Unlike BJ whos pretty much never gonna contend for a ufc title again. And if melendez could manage to win that fight it would give him some legitamacy of being a top LW.  Also woulnt mind they signing jamie varner since hes a name, former wec champ and strikeforce needs an influx of talent before they fold next year.

Pettis' manager just said rumors of him going to strikeforce are 100% false, and that Anthony is focusing on his UFC career.

The return of Sean Sherk?? Lol just a wild guess. That would be pretty awesome though.

deny to hold out for more money to accept, classic negotiation tactic.  I favor pettis more now, lol.

If Sherk is the person, then Dana really has no faith in him and thinks he is done. However, it will be a really bad idea since Sherk has been doubted before and I think he can still make it a fight.

why not send a guy to SF that you think has a  good shot at taking the title.  Its not like they are demoting Pettis just sending him there to fight Melendez.  If Pettis can take the title, then they can completely fold SF and Pettis can be the last Strikeforce LW champion then, lol.  Then he comes back and fights Henderson to Unify.
