Did anybody picked that outcome?!

Was it Frank Mir who said that it's one thing to be a BJJ black belt and quite another to be a BJJ black belt while being punched in the face? It really showed right here.

Yes I HATE the sportification of MMA. I LOVED the original idea of the UFC - to see which fighting style worked in a real fight. I realize that it can't be a real fight but the idea of keeping it as close to the original intention as possible should be pursued with passion. I can't stand namby pamby artists. That word was thrown in with martial - which means pertaining to war - to mollify the civilized of which I most definitely am not. Barbarians Rule!

My favorite Frank Mir saying is "I thought I was a black belt until I rolled with Maia" or something like that! If only the Demian of old was around now.......

ok well in that case im actually with ya....but i think w/ no rules a wrestler w sub defense would still "lay n pray"....they typically have the better cardio and would out last most other styles.....that and they could knee to the head on the ground

What's wrong with lay n' pray? It's boring, we get it. But it's the fault of the guy on the bottom as well for letting the opponent get the takedown. Lay n' praying is a great display of sound wrestling.

Oh and I won! Yay! 2 weeks in a row and counting my friends.

Oh I definitely agree with it being a fighter's fault if he can't wrestle. It's an important skill in order to gain a good position or get out of a bad one in order to try and finish a fight.

krazyhopz, if you're going to do that in a real fight you better have VERY good wrist control.

As Joe Rogan once said "If you can't get up after a guy takes you down...tough ****"

It's boring if you're neutral but if the guy doing it was a family member, close friend etc... then you'd happily watch him do that and take no damage whatsoever.....War's are awesome but so is having brain cells

A less risky way is to finish your opponent quickly. The best method of self defense is to avoid a fight which you ignore by entering the cage.
