Tough spot to be in following your father's footsteps - the first story of this kind i've heard of in MMA as well, probably because the sport is still so young. I hope he does well.

That's an interesting point. I'm sure in the next 20-30 years there will be a lot of MMA sons competing on the big stage.

Great interview. He really is taking MMA seriously and is definitely taking the right approach. Randy probably wouldn't allow Ryan to fight someone who was above his level this early in his pro career. After reading this I feel more confident that Ryan's going to win this next match. It'll be interesting to see how far Ryan goes in MMA.

It is worth pointing out that Lee Higgins, Couture's opponent next week, had a successful amateur career and is currently 2-0 as a pro. Competitive match-making from Strikeforce?!?
