Predictions: 4 of 6 Winners, 3 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 13th with 3 others

Hadbi vs. Naurdiev
Ismail Naurdiev, DEC
Okay, this *should* be a layup for naurdiev. I say should because he is the definition of a glass cannon. Ismail actually frustrates me so much because some fights he looks like a future champion and others he looks like he hasn’t trained mma a day in his life. In his most recent string of losses, naurdiev has left kill cliff (terrible idea) and is now training with the azaitar bros in Morocco (I’m sure he’s getting real “quality” training there). Ismails standup is so clean. He has insane power and his kicks are brutal. However, sometimes his defense totally fails him (been dropped/ko’ed twice in his last too for being irresponsible) but other times he looks like the best kickboxer you’ve ever seen. His wrestling makes no sense. Sometimes he can defend well & even has shown good scrambles, and then other times he lets chance rencountre control him for 12 minutes. This guy he’s fighting is a can, old, and hasn’t fought in a minute so nayrdiev should roll, but you never know what version you’re getting. I’m hoping the weight change is what he needs & that he can get back on the right path

Dailidko vs. Csukas
Pavel Dailidko, TKO, R1
Seems like a highlight for dailidko. Csukas is old and was already exposed as a can crusher in his last two. Pavel is actually not bad for a heavyweight. He lost his debut which is whatever but he was actually beating Gaziev on the feet before getting caught. His other performances have been pretty solid; he has used his physicality to walk his opponent down and sleep them. Not sure how good he actually is but if he keeps winning I imagine the ufc/pfl isn’t too far behind

Kubanza vs. Ibrahim
Eliezer Kubanza, TKO, R1
I wish they rebooked the carriel fight but at least kubanza is fighting another undefeated person. Kibanza has trash grappling but his striking is unreal. He is a freak athlete with insane ko power. Everyone he touches just falls down & his best weapon is by far his head kick (ko’ed his last opponent stiff with a blocked head kick). He even slept gitinov as an amateur with it. Idk anything about his opponent but he appears to be a striker. If he wants to stand and trade with kubanza he will get slept badly. I would love to see kubanza train outside of Africa because I really think he could be the next thing out of Africa; his striking is scary good

Maaev vs. Kupravishvili
Khamzat Maaev, TKO, R1
It’s hard to pick against the maaev hype train currently but I think he could lose this fight. This Georgian guy isn’t anyone special but he is the first real test of maaev’s career; he’s faced real people and gone the distance before. I love a good hype train and maaev has definitely been impressive thus far, however he is wildly untested. He is dominating these guys like he should, appears to have insane power & great wrestling, and has the same athletic build as Khamzat (a very useful build for mma imo) so he passes the eye test. If he runs through this guy as easily as he has everyone else, then I’ll fully join the hype train

Gitinov vs. Ikashev
Ramazan Gitinov, TKO, R1
Same case with Rasul, this opponent has a good record but has fought nobodies. I will say, he’s dominating these guys like you’re supposed to, but that doesn’t mean he has the skills to compete with gutunov. The only thing gutinov has to be careful of is guillotines, since this guy seems to like to pull them. I’m loving the activity from gutinov, hopefully he can get a real opponent next year & then go to the ufc. Sky is the limit for this kid

Magomedov vs. Shamsidin
Rasul Magomedov, SUB, R1
Just a warm body for Rasul. I am extremely high on him. He started out as a super high level freestyle wrestler but made the switch to mma. He is a little chinny but his skills have translated well to mma & he has gotten a lot of good experience as an amateur. His opponent has a decent record but it’s padded to ****. This should be a shellacking for Rasul

Mohsen vs. Forster
David Forster, TKO, R1
I assume brave wants mohsen to win but unless this other guy was paid to take a dive I don’t see it. Mohsen is old and only fought guys who are brought in to lose. Forster isn’t overly impressive to me but he is at least beating real people and is younger

Predictions: 5 of 6 Winners, 3 Perfect, 415 Points   |   2nd Place

Hadbi vs. Naurdiev
Ismail Naurdiev, SUB, R2
Naurdiev looked soo promising but he's a glass cannon and his defense is just bad, I hope he doesn't lose this tho his opponent seems pretty low level

Dailidko vs. Csukas
Pavel Dailidko, TKO, R1
Pavel is better than many UFC HWs

Kubanza vs. Ibrahim
Eliezer Kubanza, TKO, R1
I know DRC is a very diverse country with soo many ethnic groups, but generally speaking DRC fighters are soo genetically gifted even those who aren't very good, Kubanza is no expection, his striking is simply treat to watch and he has devastating explosive power, I don't think any of these fighters in will beat him in standup, but his wresting needs lots of word

Maaev vs. Kupravishvili
Khamzat Maaev, SUB, R2
Not very high on Maaev but he's definitely good

Gitinov vs. Ikashev
Ramazan Gitinov, TKO, R1
Future UFC contender

Magomedov vs. Shamsidin
Rasul Magomedov, TKO, R1
Futurr champ

Mohsen vs. Forster
Mohammadseifi Mohsen, TKO, R3
No idea about either, have seem some of Mohsens fight tho

You really think frenchie is the one to beat him tho? This guy has a bad record and hasn’t fought in 3 years. Naurdiev is a glass cannon but everyone he’s lost to has a finishing threat at least. And his last two fights were taken within two months of one another which was an awful idea

Skill for skill these guys aren’t in the same stratosphere

It seems to me that you are both right in this dispute. Yes, Naurdiev should defeat the old Frenchman who has not fought for 3 years. And yes, such -500 on such an unreliable fighter as Naurdiev is ridiculous.
Both thoughts are correct.

Mohsed is a very good sanda fighter with a strong punch. He will probably win here, but this is a fraud check for him
There are some chances that he will not pass it.

@pickem yeah makes sense, betting on hasbi is a losing bet, but laying -500 on naurdiev has no value
