Michael Bisping has at best a slim chance to win.

"He's gonna try and take me down, lay on top of me and smother me to death."

I think that's all that had to be said.

Chael will likely either smother him and attack relentlessly with feverish but not very damaging ground and pound or he might possibly submit him a la Stann, but Michael isn't staying off his back. Can he submit Sonnen from his back is the only question in my mind, because he isn't knocking Chael out and he's not stuffing all his take-down attempts.
I'm right about 50% of the time too hahaha.
Just a humble opinion.

I think I have Chael winning this fight by decision but if I were Bisping I would be drilling my triangles and arm bars like crazy. Chael has been submitted  21% of the time so in roughly 1 out of every 5 fights he's been in, so Bispings chances aren't terrible.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chael got the sub or the TKO here

@jaffa well i mean Chael catching Bisping in an arm trinagle or maybe RNC doesn't seem all that ridiculous to me.

I think you're seriously underestimating Bisping's ground skills though

Hmm...riiiight......I'm not really considering the amount of submission losses that Chael has on his record,Bisping has 0 so who's underestimating who?

haha that's true but Chael does have submissions and combine that with his wrestling and GnP i would say he has a chance of getting the sub.
Don't get me wrong though I'm not picking him to win by sub i was just saying that if it did happen it wouldn't blow my mind.

it took Anderson 23 minutes to get Chael in a triangle, Bisping will not sub him.

I will Sig bet anyone that Bisping doesn't win by Submission

but here is the trick, You only get Bisping by Sub, while I get the rest of the ways the fight can end.  To make it fair I will put my sig up for 2 weeks against 1 week of whoever will take the bet.

Sonnen only gets submitted by GREAT grapplers. Which Bisping is not

Agreed.....When this match up was first made i immediately picked Sonnen and thought it was going to be a massacre but I actually think this fight will be alot closer than people think! That being said I still think Chael takes it.....

I just don't think Bisping will be able to stop the takedowns Chael is gonna shoot on him. However i think at the end of the fight we may see another Koscheck vs Daley ending haha

Chael will most likely win a decision but I don't see Michael being able to do much...he doesn't have one punch KO power and Chael isn't gonna stand with him for long.

I just really don't see where some people get this idea that Bisping is some great fighter.  Unless I'm missing something, Dan Henderson was the only top 10 fighter he has ever fought, and we all saw how that one beautifully ended.  Everyone's got a puncher's chance, but the odds are really stacked against him in this fight.  Sonnen will be the 2nd real test of his career.

Bisping will be almost certainly outclassed against sonnen, but bisping is a top 10 MW. I agree he needs to fight better opponents, but he has had stellar performances in all of his outings save the one against henderson

I am actually very excited about this fight. it will be contrasting styles of fighting. Bisping has fairly good takedown defense, but he has yet to face a wrestler like Sonnen in the past 3 years.
But Bisping  has a tendency of doing good against groundsmen (Jason Miller) but bad against strikers (Wanderlei Silva, and Dan Henderson)

But with striking i will go with the Brit, i don't think he can KO Sonnen but he could do some damage in stand up. i can see this going all 3 rounds, and in the end endurance and wrestling I think will win the day. So I say that Sonnen by Decision.

@ben i dont think id go as far to say stellar but i do agree he has had solid performances against everyone he has fought (including hendo really) and is a good fighter.
