Does anyone know if Shinya will be fighting again in Strikeforce or the UFC? Shinya is my favorite fighter but from a non biased view I feel that he has beaten up his past handful of opponents and hasnt lost since Melendez(excluding that loss to nagashima in his exhibition match) and has dominated his opponents. Im not saying he can become the UFC champ(or at least not yet) but I feel like he deserves a shot at some better competition. Im not trying to cause crap I just want people's opinions!

Id like to see the UFC buy dream if they let them do their own thing but provide some of the money. I like the DREAM format. I wish DREAM put on more events though.

I hope to the fight gods that the UFC doesn't try to buy DREAM. I'd break a whole bunch of **** if that happened

If Zuffa buys Dream, then yes, Aoki will likely fight on American soil.

If Dream remains independent of Zuffa, then I think it is unlikely he'll ever fight over here.

I want zuffa to buy dream. It drives me crazy how there is more than one man in each division being called "world champion". No. You aren't. If there was a professional basebal league in japan which never played against MLB teams would you call their seaon winners "world champions" in baseball? Zuffa should control all mma everywhere, with WORLD champions, as well as tournament champions and feeder leagues.

@Buffalo There are professional baseball leagues in Japan. As far as I know, they call the season winner "world champion". Not positive what they call the winner for sure.

While Aoki’s next fight will take place in Japan later this year, he does have plans to return to the United States in 2012. As a matter of fact, Aoki says if it wasn’t for his family back home, to which he recently added a new baby, he’d be in the UFC right now.

“If I didn’t have a family, then I would go to the UFC right now,” said Aoki. “However, I have a family. MMA in Japan is a complicated situation. It’s not in my control.

Found that from an article a few months back. Sounds very shady.

I was just asking Aoki and Eddie Bravo on twitter why he hasn't got a chance in UFC...and now he says he will be fighting at the next DREAM/OneFC so I guess it's not gonna be anytime soon. I wish we could see it though, he'd be the best submission grappler at 155 should he come over...

Hasn't Dana said that he doesn't think Aoki is a top 10 LW? I think he's nasty and it would be awesome to see him in the UFC.

I like Aoki a lot but Im wouldnt be overly excited if he came to the UFC. I dont think he is well rounded enough to beat any of the top guys.

All I want for next Christmas and birthday. Ben Henderson vs. Shinya Aoki in a title unification match. Best defensive vs. best offensive submission grapplers in the world.

His stand-up the other night looked pretty good though, he's been working on his muay-thai at least...he actually dropped Kitaoka standing with some clinch knees.

i really doubt Shinya will fight in America and if he does it will in no way be against top 20 compition.

Shinya is good at beating the top guys in Japan and but will NEVER beat any top guys in america he simply isn't good enough.
