I don't know what the thought process behind selecting the main event was, and who they thought they could realistically use to fill that slot given that Jones is injured, McGregor is gymming on Yacht, and the available champs don't necessarily have the star power to fill in that gap.
The fight is a banger on its own, but it feels like a title fight that they just had to do for the sake of progression in the division. We'll see how it goes.

On another note, this just shows how badly kape fumbled his title shot. He makes weight and beats nicolau like he was supposed to, and he was a lock for a title shot. Now because he botched it, he may not get a crack at the belt for the rest of the year; massive mistake on his part
