Another quality card from Japan. The main and Co Main fighters are all undefeated!

As per usual expect to get half my picks incorrect!

Suga vs. Igarishi
Masaya Suga, DEC
Why is 90% picking Igarishi when both guys have exactly the same record(Suga is 2-1,not 1-1 as shown) and they are 6 spots apart from 600 on the BoxRec ranking (330th vs 336th)! Is it just because 1 guy has a picture? There is literally no other difference! Wierd!!!

Ow, this hurts my brain! I'm not accustomed to thinking this hard about a boxing match!

Maeda vs. Kimura
Jinki Maeda, DEC
Pretty much the same can be said about this fight. Not that it's a bad thing!

@Mikey1903

Yes, for the Masaya Suga VS Haruki Igarishi fight it was the picture that did it for me. In 50/50 fights between two fighters I've never seen fight, I'll often shrug my shoulders and pick the guy with the picture.

I picked Igarishi because I think he's fought better competition (even if he hasn't actually beaten said competition). It could go either way tho they're both early in their careers.

Maybe. You both could be correct. I don't have a clue myself!!!

I'm just always curious when I see a 50/50 fight being picked 90/10? Have people not learned anything about these Japanese cards yet?

@Mikey1903

Here's my suspicion about that phenomenon you keep talking about. I call it "The Early-Bird Hive-Mind Theorem".

You have a close fight but not one that will get a lot of mainstream attention. People don't hold as strong opinions on Japanese boxing prospects as they do on top UFC fighters for instance. They then scroll to the bottom and see that the early birds who have already picked the fight have one  fighter slightly ahead. They assume these early birds know their boxing more than they do as they've already made a point of picking it early. They then copy the early bird picks and whoever is slightly in the lead in the Tapology pick % gains another supporter. This process continues until you have a one-sided split.

Basically the early bird pickers influence the majority on obscure coin flip fights.

I usually make my own picks before I look at the pick percentage. I have been guilty of doing this before though.

Hmmm, makes sense.

Anyway,, After looking at the results I've realised that the important thing is I don't know ****!!!
2 "favourites" lost. Tapology went and favoured the underdog, I'm sure you all did research and didn't just pick because Maeda looks hard!!! Ha
Japan I love you but **** you!!

TBH on a 5 fight Japanese boxing card, you've got about as much chance of getting 5 winning lottery numbers as you do of picking perfect card lol!

Yup Japan is a nightmare for picking.
Always throws up wierd ****.
I just find it even more funny that there's 2 clear favourites (Suzuki and Kimura) Tapology picks the" wrong" guys and they end up winning anyway!!!

All things considered, this was a pretty good Japanese boxing card by my standards!

4/5 with 3 perfects on a Japanese boxing card? Can't lie, I'm proud of that!
