Mikey Tapology Boxing Corner!

Alright folks, 

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site. 

So here's a place to talk boxing.

BoxRec got a new updated look.

I hate everything about it. The original was completly fine imo. Yet another website goes into the minimalist trash heap.

I don't mind it. It wouldn't say it's an improvement or a downgrade, just different. Still easy to navigate around and that's all I care about.

I agree, I like **** as it is.

Upgrades are cool but I guess it has to happen.
The OLD get left out & the new move on.

Since we just seen Ryan Garcia at the weekend with a great display of left Hook mastery, what a coincidence that this video pops up in my YouTube recommended page!

I'm currently in scotland and spent 2 days in edinburgh and i was just wondering if all of you are that gay or if it's just relegated to the capitol?

I find that since the update, I've been asked to fill out a Captcha almost every time I go to check a fighter's record. It used to happen now and again but now it seems it's happening literally all the time. The way I check out boxing fights is when I'm on the prediction page, I'll click on "open in new tab" when clicking on each fighter's BoxRec link so I have to two pages next to each other in two separate tabs. That's how I always used to do it but now when I do that, at least one of the pages will ask me to fill out a Captcha before taking me to the page. Anyone else experiencing this?

I hate to complain about BoxRec as it's normally great but this is really starting to piss me off! I KNOW WHAT A ******* BOAT LOOKS LIKE GOD **** IT!!!!!

Also they're now limiting the number of boxers you can follow to 10. I've followed 30+ boxers so that's really annoying to me. I hope they don't try to paywall that feature in the future. 

It's a pain in the ass for Tapology users!
Apparently it's something about reducing the amount of traffic? Why would a site want to reduce the amount of traffic? Isn't that how you make ad money? 
I do know that if you just go straight to BoxRec you will not be asked if you are a robot!!! 
It only happens when you use the links(which makes me think its something to do with Tapology, as I've said before the Admin at BoxRec doesn't like Tap/me, he blocked my IP a while ago!!)

Like I said just going straight to BoxRec doesn't seem to bring up the Captcha problem. I know it's a bit more of a pain in the ass, instead of going straight from Tapology to BoxRec but that's the way it is unfortunately.
I'm sure you guys will figure out a way to be able to have both sites open to research your picks

I may bring this up with Greg, because the way he set up the boxing profiles on Tap it uses BoxRec for the records. So we kind of rely on them in a way, which I don't like. 

I guess he didn't expect for me to come along and add 10s of 1000s of fights to the database myself!
