Buatsi should be too good for Bolotniks here.

Bolotniks is good tho, his 5 losses are not a fair representation of his skills. Those losses came very early in his career. Over the last few years he has really put it together.
But, he's a straight forward boxer. Buatsi should be able to walk him onto some hard shots and get a stoppage.
You never know tho!!!

No problem.
Yeah 3 great boxing main events tonight. Pity they weren't all on the same card!!
They highest skilled and ranked fight is Rigondeaux vs Casimero. That should be great, but has potential for Rigo to make it a boring point fight.
Moleney Franco is a grudge match between 2 top 10 115lbers.
But if you want to watch 1 then I say watch Vergil Ortiz Jr. He is an all action, thunderous puncher. Stepping up vs a fringe top 10 fellow big puncher!!

Dammit I thought Buatsi was going to get me a perfect pick!!! He had Bolotniks in BIG trouble in the 6th!!!!
Feel like Buatsi let him off the hook tho he was way too wild and looks a little gassed now!!

that 7th round is proof that the ref should have done his job in the 6th.

both fighters doing more damage to each other than needed, both fighters getting sloppier, no chance bolotnik wins pretty much the entire time. what is this ref even there for?

@mikey im highlighting the aspects of the fight that are both the refs discretion and responsibility. the first six rounds were the exact same as the last six, therefore we didnt need to see anything past the knockdown and follow-up flurry in the 6th. the refs need to discard this morbid curiousity with attempting to "find out" whether a guy is somehow going to miraculously rise from the dead or not. history repeated itself, like it always does, and that needs to be seen as a lesson to the ref. He got it right the second time. Hopefully that's a sign that this ref is "listening" if you know what i mean.

I see your point but I disagree that the fight should have been stopped after the 6th, it could have been stopped in the 6th! But then Buatsi visibily gassed and Bolotniks started hitting him, won Rd 7, 8 and maybe 9!
I don't think a fight should be stopped when a man is fighting back but then again he did end up getting flattened so maybe you're correct!!?
Still, was a good fight. Buatsi definitely had to dig deeper than ever and that experience will help as he moves on to even bigger tests. He's 1 or 2 away from World Championship fights.
Credit to Bolotniks for being tough AF and taking it to Buatsi. He landed a lot of good shots and gave his all.

right mikey but i never said it should have been stopped AFTER the sixth. i was saying that as the fight went on after the sixth, it only became more obvious that the ref MISSED his opportunity in the 6th. his actions regarding the end of the fight lead me to believe he has acknowledge this missed opportunity and is evolving as a ref

Oh right, sorry. Misunderstood you there bud!!! OK, I do not disagree with you!!! Haha
I too think the fight could've(and should've for my perfect.!!) been stopped in the 6th!!
There was no question about the actual stoppage tho, Bolotniks went down HARD!!!
