Machado vs. Fierro
Alberto Machado, TKO, R1
From what little I've seen of Alberto Machado, he seems to come out fast in the first round to try and finish it early. Sometimes this tactic works for him and sometimes it doesn't but I'm going with the more exciting option!

Ibarra vs. Cornejo
Maricela Cornejo, DEC
I don't care if she's the underdog, I'm picking Maricela Cornejo and nothing's gonna stop me!!!!!

Valentin vs. Marengo
Edwin Valentin, TKO, R2
This will be another highlight reel KO for Edwin Valentin.

I can't imagine why you're picking her stephen, it seems you would be a BOOB to throw away your pick % like that. I probably won't be able to watch the event live, so please keep us all aBREAST regarding the results. I hope she wins though, that would be the TITS!

Machado vs. Fierro
Alberto Machado, TKO, R3
Machado by murder!!!! Disappointed Tanajara had to withdraw as that was a great main event. Former World Champion vs undefeated prospect looking to step up to World level. Now we get this.

Gonzalez vs. Martinez
Israel Gonzalez, DEC
This is the best fight on the card. 2 decent guys both been in and around the top 20/25. Gonzalez has fought and beaten the slightly better competition(unless you include Chocolatito!) , Martinez is the guy with most to gain though, he wins this he's in the mix, plus he's at home. Puerto Rico vs Mexico too, a classic rivalry that has produced fireworks over the years

I'm picking Maricela Cornejo because like Nina Pavlovic and Marianne Ahlborg, she has a lot of urm, attributes at her disposal that she can crush her opposition with! Definitely nothing to do with her boobs, honest!

Did you notice that Cornejo TKO'd your other "prospect" Samantha Pill?!

I'm sure you can watch that fight on YouTube, it took place on a Golden Boy undercard, a lot of those fights are available on YouTube.
You know, just for research purposes!!

@Mikey1903

Thanks for pointing that out, I can't believe I missed that! It's almost as if I were distracted by something!

The fight was easy to find on YouTube. I thought I'd watch it at 2:30am as a bit of light entertainment before bed but seeing Samantha Pill in tears at the end actually got to me a bit! Sometimes I hate the fact that I love boxing, it can be such a cruel sport.

Mikey, i know it. But first fight Marco Delgado don't won really. And now, hi can't win by for 6  rounds  by points. Dibella and Joseph Ward knows it. Only lucky-punch.

Evening Mikey, Boxrec has the Marco Delgado Vs Joseph Ward II Bout down has a 6 Round contest... If that is the case, I wish to be the first to predict that I think Joseph Ward will be the first Boxer to inflict a Stoppage defeat on the ultra tough, rugged and consistently durable Delgado, stopping him in either 4 or 5...However, if it is indeed a 4 Round contest, I think Joseph Ward will just try and easily outbox Delgado and pick up a comfortable UD Points Win!! πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ₯ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ’―πŸ‘

The bout between Israel Gonzalez of Mexico and Jose Martinez of Puerto Rico has been moved to a 10 Round contest at Bantamweight (118Lbs), because the fight now has a Title on the line in the form of the vacant WBO NABO Title... Spoiler alert for all Puerto Ricans, I unfortunately think that the ever efficient and highly active Israel Gonzalez is gonna do the business, in what will probably be a highly competitive and entertaining bout... Good luck to both fighters πŸ‡²πŸ‡½πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€‘πŸ’―πŸ₯ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ‘

Alberto Mercado is being ultimately handed a second tier fighter, who comes to fight and throw punches, in order to introduce Mercado to the Lightweight Division, which he has only recently moved to... Shame that Mercado isn't fighting young prospect Hector Tanajara, but the replacement Angel Fierro has been brought in via good matchmaking.. I expect a very entertaining and quick firefight between the pair and given the way Mercado starts contests, looking for the KO/TKO early, I don't see the fight going past 5 Rounds... Mercado can be hurt, especially with decent power shots to the body and I give Fierro the slightest of Punchers chance, but I personally think Mercado will hurt Fierro with his power in the first 4 Rounds and get the Stoppage when that situation arises... Looking forward to watching a great fight whilst it lasts and an excellent Fightcard overall, full of intriguing bouts, with some excellent Puerto Rican and Mexican prospects/lower weight contenders, with a bit of the Irish thrown in for good measure... A need for Joseph Ward, after all his Amateur Boxing success and experience to deliver... I hope for Joseph emphatically too πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€‘πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ‘Œ

Ring City Cards are surely proving to be excellent and entertaining events for all those who are interested in Boxing and especially those who like watching the development of young prospects, who eventually move into Contender level... A great programme for NBC Sports USA to broadcast in order to showcase and assist in raising the profile of some of the finest young talent that Boxing has to offer in the current era... Last point, don't sleep on the ability and past Amateur experience of Light Heavyweight, Mighty Joe Ward and with regards to Maricela Cornejo... WoW... I fancy her πŸ˜‚ to beat her opponent, Alma Ibarra, probably via a closely fought Points Decision too... πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€‘πŸ’―πŸ‘ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ‘

Ps... Mr Stephen Terry, I raise the following point to you Sir, I am highly surprised that you think that Marco Delgado is beating Mighty Joseph Ward by a Points Decision this evening.... If he does, I Must stress, I highly expect he won't, but Joseph Ward's Boxing Career aspirations will go up in tatters... Joseph Ward, given his past Amateur experience and successes at that level, combined with his ability, should slowly break Delgado's will to compete in their bout this evening and if Ward doesn't achieve the Stoppage, which I think he will late in the contest, especially if the fight has indeed been altered to a 6 Round Bout and Ward will certainly be looking for this method of victory, especially after losing the 1st fight between the pair in 2019, on his Professional Boxing debut, due to a serious twisted knee injury in the 2nd Round of that bout, that was awful to watch by the way and Must have been excruciating for Ward to deal with at the time, I would therefore expect Ward to easily dominate an over matched Delgado throughout every Round and secure himself a comfortable Points victory to even the score... πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€‘πŸ’―πŸ‘ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ‘

As is often Mikey, your predictions are similar to mine, they look like how I envisage each of the fights on the Card going... So I suppose that will be interesting... Good to see that you think Mighty Joseph Ward will pick up the W against Marco Delgado too... Good luck with your picks for the Boxing Card... πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€‘πŸ’―πŸ‘ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ‘

Yeah Jay sorry I couldn;t get al the rounds correct.  i was kinda relying on guess work and also I thought Machado would fight 12, Gonzalez Martinez 10, the women 8, Delgado Ward 6 or 8. i was looking for confirmation but I saw different  rounds listed in different paces, plus Ring City left most of the undercard ?.  So I had to take an educated guess, I have to enter a round duration, cannot leave it blank.

Anyway, since the picks are locked I can give my true predictions!!!!!  Alberto Machado should merk Fierro, though we;ve seen enough funky Mexicans spoil the party over the past month and Fierro has potential, I especially love the he is HOFer Erik Morales protigee!  That can go 2 ways, he either learn for Morales and develop into another great Mexican warrior, or he cannot live up to his idols demands. I hope its the latter, if Fierro can be half as great as Morales he'll be amazing! Machado did get brutalised by Andrew Canco x2 both by body shots, not exactly a good sign if he wants to get back challenging for World titles.  Massive opportunity for Fierro.

I like Angel Acosta, he was the 108lbs World Champion and he was knocking fools out, I think every of his 21 wins is a KO.  He was on the verge of a breakthrough a couple years ago but ending up losing a heartbreaker to Elwin Soto, who dropped him early only for Acosta to throughogly outbox him the rest of the way, until the 12th and final round he getas caught again, dropped, but makes it back to his feet. I think 30 seconds left and the referee jumps in and stops the fight when Acosta seemend more than capable of finished the final moments. Another kick in the teeth, despite the knockdowns he was well ahead on the cards. If that ref let it go 30 seconds he's still Chmap and in line for unifications with Felix ALvarado, Kenshi Shigori and Hyoto Kyoguchi.  Now he has to work his way back again, probably need a 5 fight KO streak, sucks!

Final thoughts, Cornijea beats Ibarra fairly comfortable, Valentin by KO, and Joseph Ward gets the win he deserved in the 1st fight if not for a freak knee injury.

Still, I dont expect it to go exactly how I think as these Ring City shows have been very competitive.  LETS GO!!!!
