Well, pretty much everything about America is strange. I don't know much about horses, but I know a lot about how I tried feeding a bus a carrot and the cops showed up and strip searched me and one put his thumb up my ass. 

Hard Saturday for sports. The D1 college wrestling championship goes on the TV. The UFC fight night on the laptop. Both playing at the same time.

Every time I do tape study and watch fights from the contender series I can see how often there is an abundance of money on the table for bettors there. It reminds me of the lines you used to see in 2017-2019 in the UFC when they first started to lean more and more heavilly into betting with sponsors and displayed odds and is what got me into betting back then. You would just get such outrageous lines on dogs that I knew had a good chance of winning.

I should sign up for Fight Pass one of these days so that I can find all these small leagues fights.

Hello everyone!, I love MMA and have been watching it since UFC 281. I have some knowledge and love to watch old fights with my father who’s been watching since the start of UFC. But, I watch really any MMA event that’s on and have no idea who the preliminary or middle to low card fighters are( sometimes main card like LFA). How should I go about researching these fighters? Should I watch tape or highlights or study their stats? If you have anything to say thank you🙏

If you want to research a fighter, it's best to do a combo of tape and statistical analysis. For lesser known fighters, especially on regional cards, you may have trouble finding film. However, you should always start with YouTube. Every now and again you have to do a little work to find some film, but that just comes with experience. For example, some fighters from South America, usually Brazil, are known by their nickname. If you search them by their full legal name, you might not certain fights. Little things like that you will learn with time and experience, but always check Youtube for film if you don't pay for any kind of subscription service that lets you access old fights. 

When it comes to statistical analysis, you pretty much have everything you need between this website and ufcstats.com. I would definitely learn to get acquainted with that site and the metrics they use. It is an immensely invaluable tool for evaluating UFC fights but stats of course will never tell you the entire story. This won't help you for regional cards but as long as the fighter has fought on DWCS or debuted in the UFC already, they'll have some stats for you to go off of on that site. Another good suggestion is learning to go back and look at old scorecards. Strictly looking at stats per round in an MMA fight won't always tell you how that fight was ultimately scored. 

Finally, one of the best things I can suggest is just learning to peruse these forums. Read the comments on the event pages for the promotions you're interested in. It might take some time, but find 6-10 posters who you think are competent when it comes to evaluating MMA but that you don't necessarily always agree with. I would actually suggest making that a priority. Find 3-5 users on this site who constantly find yourself disagreeing with. Those people will be right sometimes and you can learn something from them. There's a lot of really, really smart people that use this website who know what they're talking about. Be humble and ready to learn and I promise you will.
