I'm not against Chandler getting the fight vs Conor McGregor, but I'm also not convinced Dana White and the UFC are set in stone on him either. I think Charles Oliveira is still in the conversation as well

People really think Conor is gonna come back and fight again? By the time he would even be eligible he'll be 35 years old coming off a broken leg with all the money in the world. I really doubt he comes back to the UFC. Maybe if they offer him a layup like they did with the Cowboy fight its possible I guess. At what weight class though, he's not making 155 in the next 2 years. Way too much much muscle mass put on in the last year to just shed it all away.

I think McGregor will come back because his ego and pride will make him. Chandler has a good chance out of knocking him out, I would pick him. McGregor best days are gone

If I were Dana, I'd just say "**** it" and book Conor McGregor's return fight against Tony Ferguson at 170lbs just for the sake of the build up!

I know McGregor is a money printer for the UFC but I'm skeptical that a Tony fight would sell well. T-Ferg is well past his expiration date and it showed in the Diaz fight. McGregor can't hang with the top 170ers or 155ers but I believe there are better matchups for him from a rating's standpoint. Masvidal, Wonderboy, Chandler, etc.

TBH, I'm completely disregarding the rankings here as I was just thinking purely from the point of view of two fan favourite fighters who with their trash talk, could convince a wide casual audience that they are not in fact both well past their primes. I was on Reddit the other day and saw a guy attempt to make a serious argument that Conor McGregor will regain the Lightweight belt. The alarming thing was the number of people agreeing with him and a lot of them genuinely believed that the metal rod in his leg was going to turn him into a prime Mirko Cro Cop or something. As for Tony Ferguson, he's always entertaining on the mic and social media. This certainly isn't one for the MMA purists but from the point of an MMA promotor trying to squeeze every last drop of money out of two aging stars, I don't think this wouldn't be too hard a sell to the casual audience.

Yeah, if I were an MMA promotor, I would absolutely be a "money fight over logical fight" kind of businessman lol!

The press conference with those two would be pretty decent, although I wish that had happened in 2016.

Isn’t a good position and takedown in MMA shouldn’t score , should it just be an advantage to land strikes and go for submission, I think it been biting fighter in the arse not trying to do anything from position, people been crying robbery being like he control him so hard bro, but judges been valuing damage nowadays

Except when they don’t. Super inconsistent.

Two of the judges gave the first round to Paddy. That’s ridiculous. Hellen Keller would make a better judge at this point. 

After that fight and Yan-Sean I unrionically believe some of these decisions are fixed to serve promotional needs.
