When or if Ricardo Arona comes to the UFC, who should his first be? An experienced grappler? High class striker?

did he get signed?  didn't he say something about getting a win somewhere first?
i'd say arona vs someone like vera maybe.

is he signed?
maybe a mid level guy like bonnar, polish experiment, somebody like that.
(i only wrote polish experiment cause i have no idea how to spell his name without looking it up)
those guys will still be tough tests for him if he hasn't learned to tuck his chin down in the last couple years.

matt hamill would be a perfect matchup.  tough guy, good wrestler, decent standup game with big power.  perfect measuring stick for where arona fits in the division.

yeah i think hamill would be a good fit. he's willing to bag first and wrestle second which makes things interesting.  i think bonnar would be fascinating.
vera seems like more of a striker vs. grappler kinda matchup.  i'd be less eager to watch that one.
they've GOT to do an arona-wanderlei III somewhere down the line.  but i dunno what weight class works best.  maybe a catch weight if arona can make it.

Yeah Matt Hamill could be a good fight or Tito Ortiz. Arona and Ortiz had a submission wrestling match in Abu Dabi awhile back and Ricardo Arona destroyed Ortiz, so I kinda wanna see that happen again. Or possibly have Jackson-Arona II? And definitely Silva-Arona III or Shogun-Arona II. Depending on if he gets that high on the 205 ladder.

Any word on Arona's status with the UFC?  I don't care who he fights first as long as it's Wandy.

Last I heard, he was planning to fight in the UFC in December, but I don't think it's going to happen until 2011.
