Who did you go with in this fight bud??? I took Iqbal, he is the much more decorated amateur. Tapology, as per usual went with the better record. But really the fight is 50/50, maybe Iqbal slightly favourite

I took iqbal as well mate. Mainly for the reason you mentioned, that he is a much more decorated amateur and I just think that he’s the slightly better overall boxer than Thomas. It’s like last week, when 70% took Thorley over billam smith just because he had the better record and was undefeated. I’m starting to think a large majority of people who predict boxing events on tapology don’t actually know who the fighters are and base the pick of who they think has the better record and who looks like the better fighter to the eye haha.

That is exactly what happens bud. They look at the records, same thing happened with a World Title fight in the US last weekend. Cuban amateur, only 2- 0 as a pro, but has about 200 amateur wins and countless World titles, fighting a guy at 20-0, everybody picked the 20-0 guy, who got whooped!!! Ha

I can't believe I forgot to put my predictions in for this event...I am watching it live however...All the favourites are on form tonight...Craig Mcintyre stopped his opponent in great form...Pierce O Leary looked fantastic in dominating a young unbeaten opponent...Sahir Iqbal got a good win against the unbeaten Welshman and showed flashes of class and Sean McComb did a great job on Siar Ozgul just now...But I'm Not sure given his physical frame, that he will make 135Lbs, Lightweight Division all that well...He doesn't carry a lot of power, so his ceiling could well be European / European Contender level tops... A great little card tonight though...Good Commentary from two knowledgeable guys in Barry Jones and his co commentator 🤔👊🥊👍

Come on Jono, time to step it up a little and show why you are considered in certain quarters as World Class...Carroll should be good enough to stop Maxi Hughes, given the difference in talent between the pair... Carroll needs to break Hughes down with heavy body shots 🤔👊🥊👍

I wasn't paying real close attention to that. I heard it was a close fight and I did see Hughes land some clean shots. But I was under the impression that Carroll had just edged it.
What do you guys think??? Was the decision fair??

It was a close fight mate, but I thought carroll did enough to win it. He was a lot busier but Hughes did land the bigger cleaner and better shots, that was probably what edged it. Could have went either way though. Think carroll might have over looked Hughes there

Yeah, I think Carroll definitely did overlook Hughes. He was due a big fight, possible World Title shot after beating Quigg so dominantly. Easy to look past a British level guy when you're focusing on World titles!
I'm happy for Hughes tho, guys like him have it tough. Good enough to compete with the best but never quite win the big fights and make very little money!!! Hopefully this win gives him a good payday and a chance at a big fight
