Help Tapology Gather Info

Hello all. 

As most of you are aware, we've been steadily attempting to ramp up the number of regional events we cover on Tapology. In order to provide reliable coverage on more U.S.-based events, I'm asking members to submit Web sites they know of or can find that have up-to-date and consistent coverage of their local MMA scene. 

For example, www.txmma.com is great for Texas MMA events, while Northeastmma.com is great for New England. I've also found pretty good sites for New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, and Canada. 

Some regions we're looking to find reliable coverage would be Florida and the surrounding southern states such as Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas, as well as Ohio and the midwest region (Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas), and the western U.S., including New Mexico, California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado). Additionally, resources on the Hawaii, Alaska, and D.C. scenes would be appreciated.

So basically, we want to be covering the entire U.S. and Canada, or as much as humanly capable of doing, but only if we can get reliable sources of info on these regions from regional sources that devote themselves to those specific areas.

Care to lend a hand?

I don't have a particular website I could refer you to, but I would be happy to update you on events happening in the Dakotas on an event by event basis.

Are you looking for a website that covers the area MMA or specific promotions websites?

@benjaminbrandt - Dakotas, whereabouts? I'm in Bismarck, not really sure where to follow where all the fights are happening other then hearing from the local fighters...

I'm in Bismarck as well.  I'm actually training to become an mma referee during the fights at the Civic Center Dec 3rd.  If I can find the full card, it would be pretty fun to pick some of the local guys especially since I know a few of them. 

MMAinPA.com is great website.  Anything like that for NJ or VA?

@Soccer: I'm looking for news-based sites that have accurate and consistent coverage of their local MMA scene, whether it be just their state or the surrounding states as well.

Maybe I should start my own MMA news and information site for the local Kansas City area. I can't seem to find one, only a couple of promoters.

Just did a quick look for Georgia, and www.georgiafighters.com showed up. Looks like they keep upcoming shows up to date, but not all the results for the shows. However, you can look at all events and results sanctioned by the Georgia athletic commission here http://www.sos.ga.gov/gaec/results.html. Don't know if that is helpful at all.

Thanks for all the help guys. Looking like not all regions are created equal in terms of their MMA coverage. Canada, New England, Texas, and New Jersey are the standouts. 

I'm genuinely surprised that we can't find good sources of coverage for Florida, California, and a few of the others.

Changing tacts, if you guys have regional promotions that seem to run consistent events, point me in their direction as well and I'll try corresponding directly with them.

I will look into the eastern washington/North Idaho scene as I seem to be the only (active) member living around here

Impact FC which is run out of Bismarck ND. Also, former UFC fighter Chris Tuchscherer has a regional show, he typically holds 3 to 4 events a year.... Crowbar MMA is maybe the name of it, out of Fargo, ND

That casino up by New Town/ Watford City has some decent shows with some bigger name guys.  Playboy has done some fights up there as well.
