So stupid, two girls of European decent, one of Polish decent and not on the Poland card, and Joanna has been almost begging to fight in Poland. ******** match-making again by the UFC.

Although Jedrzejczyk should get a fight in Poland I doubt they want to put a title fight on a inconsequential European card that starts in the middle of the day.

She's not really a draw anyway so who cares, Polish fans want it, and she wants it. This was a basic mistake they keep making of not putting local people on local cards.

I think generally speaking local fans don't give a monkeys about seeing local fighters on their cards. If I go watch BAMMA or Cage Warriors why do I want to then pay UFC money to see Scott Askham or Robert Whiteford when the UFC is in Britain? That said it seems odd when the fighter in question holds a belt because neither Joanna or Rose are big draws. You would think Joanna would have a bigger drawing impact on a Polish card than as the 3rd title fight on GSP's return.

Joanna being on that card is an afterthought and puts her in the tri-main event, where as on the Poland card, she's the star of the show and would get a lot of hype. As for your example, Irish and Scottish fighters for example get huge ovations from the local crowd while they aren't very popular with the crowd in each others hometown, so that blows your theory out of the water imo. And what a load of ****, almost any event, the hometown people almost always gets the biggest pop.

Of course they do! No one goes 'nope I don't care if s/he is from my country I wanted to see someone else' and sulks like a baby. But plenty of local fans would rather see fighters who aren't already predominantly competing/have competed in their market place.

This is flying over your head. I'm saying they care more when it's local.

I'm not disagreeing with that. But the laws of internet arguing prohibit me from continuing this any further because I have paint to watch dry and grass to watch grow.

Here I'll prove it to your stubborn ass right now. Do you think the Polish fans would cheer more for Joanna or Cowboy, try not to be dishonest and hem and haw around this. This is my point.

I hate to go back on what I just said but to put this to bed. No, no I do not think that Polish fans would cheer more for Cowboy than Joanna. But then I never claimed otherwise, in fact I even agreed with that exact same point when you gave the example of the pop Scottish and Irish fighters get. My point is this, because I think you have missed it, you are arguing with a point I'm not making. Fans in local markets will cheer more for local fighters on a UFC card in their country because normally they are fighting against non-local fighters BUT many fans would rather see two better quality foreign fighters compete in the first place. For example the last British card, did I cheer way more for Danny Roberts than any of the foreign fighters on the card? Yep I did. But did I want to see Danny Roberts or Neil Seery most? God no, I wanted to see Ponz, Calvillo or Pantoja because they weren't fighters who had been competing in Britain who I could have watched fight regularly and repeatedly for the likes of BAMMA and Cage Warriors.

I have a feeling Joanna gets her first finish since Penne here. I'll say late third round or early/mid fourth TKO.

That is a good question. I think they can piece together continued runs for the likes of Herrig and Torres to justify Joanna fighting them and staying busy, which I think she would want anyway. She doesn't seem like the kind of fighter to happily sit on the side lines shining her belt. But unless Calvillo keeps looking as good as she does there are not many compelling match ups for her at 115 on the horizon.

I don't think they'll do that, at least not soon. With a less harsh weight cut there is no reason to think Joanna couldn't dominate there too and just kill the fledgling division before it has started.

There's some potential fights out there, the upcoming match between the 13-0 Pereira and the undefeated TUF winner Suarez (or whatever her name is) winner could arguably get a title fight if needed or be a fight away.Cynthia Calvillo has looked great and of course there's always a third fight with Gadelha who was awesome in her last fight.
Herig like already said and Grasso could make her way too a title in a year or two.I never really care about whose next I just know that title fights can be manufactured and fighters you don't expect go on runs, new signings that look great,I just know that there's almost always someone out there and weight classes change so fast.
I never really consider a division "cleaned out" just sometimes the champ has to fight someone that doesn't deserve it to bridge the time to a fight that makes sense. Some fans just expect "the greatest fight ever" every title fight and when something isn't amazing the division is then "cleaned out".It's kind of annoying imo.
