I think this is a good move for Sexyama. Both going to 170 & training with GSP will do nothing but benefit him as a fighter. While I would love to see Akiyama vs Rory one day, I think that Dan Hardy, Matt Brown, or even Mike Swick would be better first time welterweight matchups for him.

Agreed Logan. Sexy has only had tough match ups after his losses. It'd be nice to see him start off with that list you made up Logan. Great choices. I'd love to see Mick Swick vs Sexy. Let him evolve and train under the wing of GSP and he'd improve dramatically.

I hope Akiyama does well at 170. I like watching his fights they are always entertaining. I think he would beat Hardy, especially if the same Hardy shows up that fought Lytle.

Finally... he made the move!  He will do much better at WW and I agree with most of the other posters here... Akiyama would def be Hardy's pink slip.

ive never understood why he is so popular i find he lost the belcher fight so in my eyes he hasnt won in ufc have no idea why the guy so popular  yea he go all out and got iron chin but never get a finish
