... and michael bisping breathes a sigh of relief. idk, i guess i'm looking at it from the stance that jacare still has some defensive holes in his striking that were almost taken advantage of by boetsch. whittaker is faster, more precise, and younger.

Bisping really is ruining the MW title picture isn't he? He's treating the champion position like his personal visa black card to get anything he wants with it. I really do feel bad for Romero, Jacare, hell even Mousasi who all clearly deserve to fight for championship gold...like 2 years ago...

I would actually argue it's GSP ruining the MW title picture. Bisping was just about set to face Romero until GSP started talking about coming out of retirement to fight him. Bisping isn't going to turn down the GSP money fight. It is also GSP who keeps delaying the fight.
Bisping could take a different fight but he would be a big underdog against any of the top three contenders. Losing would eliminate the GSP fight as he would not likely step up against monsters like Romero or Jacare. He only challenged Bisping because everyone sees him as beatable.
If GSP would go challenge Woodley instead it would immediately clear the Jam at 185.

No more GSP than the UFC. They're the ones who made the fight & the reason Dana gave was totally nonsensical. He basically said they wanted to have a match set for GSP's return but GSP doesn't even want to fight that soon. A welterweight title shot would be less annoying.

UFC certainly has plenty of culpability in this situation. I know it was a battle for them to get GSP back under contract and I don't know what demands were made by either party. I don't know what kind of contractual obligations UFC has to GSP or vice versa. We know why UFC wants this and it's the same reason Bisping does $$$. GSP like Conor holds a lot of cards and can make demands of the UFC and they can't do a whole lot about it. Of the three entities involved in the 185 log jam I eould say the largest blame lies with GSP and the UFC and Bisping is just trying to take the opportunity to earn that seven figure paycheck.

GSP wouldn't be gumming the works if the UFC wasn't giving him the opportunity though. But it made me respect GSP less for not wanting to solidify and unify the WW belt after leaving but he just wants to leave that question unanswered to fight an easier champion, Bisping.

Whittaker deserve the next title shot. He in my opinion is the most deserving.
