If Wittaker can keep this fight standing, I think he going to dominate.  I think if he can keep it striking his boxing is much better and he just much better striker/faster.

Love it. "Bad intentions" Bobby has been on a tear. He can crack, but jacare can drag anyone into deep waters.

I think Whittaker is an easy sub for Jacare, but then there is no one in the division who can hang with Jacare on the mat so that applies to virtually everyone.

^^. He does and obviously great top control. Personally, as a Jacare fan, I'm trying to keep myself objective. I.e underestimated Whittaker's ability to get back to feet and TDD too many times. I'll most likely take Jacare-sub-1 with possible hedge pending league I'm playing at time hahaha

@hjwalker

Jacare has the best bjj at mw and arguably in the UFC, but Yoel can hang with him anywhere the fight goes.

@mbach4307 Yoel can basicly hang with anyone because of his athleticism first of all. We all saw that when he start to gas out (relatively quiclky), he's no more hanging with Jacare. Plus, Jacare is way more technical.

@alex

I think his athleticism plays a big part, but he is also a top level wrestler. He's one of a very few men that has beaten Cael Sanderson. His cardio is a factor, but he has a lot of finishes in the third round. He's a guy who does things out of necessity (heard this explained). So if he's wrestling, and he's down 1-0, he may stall until the end and explode for a takedown. Same with the weidman fight. He went when he had to. Plus don't forget that an argument could have been made that the jacare fight should have been stopped. Even though he recovered to do well the rest of the fight, jacare needed help to get to his stool. He was out for a while and didn't recover until about the three minute mark of round two.

Whittaker can land a killer shot of course, but I still make Jacare favourite.

@mbach3407 Yoel is a world class wrestler but there is no way he is a match for Jacare on the mat. Is his wrestling quality to make the takedown super difficult or even stop it completely? Obviously. Once there Jacare already showed he was above Romero's level on the mat in the last fight. All Romero could do was minimise damage, which he did well admittedly.

I might be the only one who's somewhat confident in Whittaker, his TDD will be the X-Factor.

@mbach4307 He's not reaching Jacare's game. The matchup was special in the sense that their respective styles kind of cancel themselves in a way. Romero have no gastank, this is why he have to be tricky. Against Weidman he waited for the opportunity to explode and finish the fight but he was losing 1 and 2 and even get brought to the mat. I need to see a rematch against Jacare and i am pretty sure he loses this one. He is a tricky pony but this will not last forever (their are some controversy in most of his fights...) BTW i would like to see him **** Bisping to shut his mouth.

@HJWalker Exactly.

@Franklin880088 Sure, in case the fight doesn't go to the ground.. I am far away from saying it's a done deal for Souza. But i think Souza have enough striking skills to at least be able to stand a little before he finds the opening to go where he wants. If Whittaker don't respect Souza's power he will be in trouble.. Souza have a decent fight IQ and will not stupidly trade against Whittaker. Robert have a decent TD defense but he never faces a guy like Jacare..
