Gastelum looked real good against an aging Kennedy. Now he gets another aging vet.

Can't think of the last time we've seen Vitor with such a huge size advantage (though it could just be a photo angle thing). Kelvin needs to get his weight in check and hop back to 170 pronto.

Yes, the size advantage and boxing skill is making me pick Vitor. Also, where they are fighting does not hurt.

In no way or form does Vitor have better "boxing skill" than Gastelum. He's more explosive, but Gastelum's boxing is much more complete (as in, he actually has classic boxing skills).

Vitor can catch him, he can catch anyone. But of you're talking skill, Gstelum's leaps and bounds above him. Not that having the less complete "boxing skill" has anything do with who I think gets the better of the striking game, just an observation based on what you wrote.

Oh, I disagree.  Al Stankie said that that Vitor has tremendous skill.  I would take that as a positive.

I worry about Kelvin in this division despite him having a great fight against Kennedy. It was against a nearly retired, out for years Tim Kennedy. It's still a good win, but I think Kelvin will eventually struggle against 185ers, he's just too small for this division in the long run.

VItor in those first two rounds will give Kelvin a hard fit, maybe even stop him, but Kelvin's chin is really underrated and his defense is pretty good too, however he's probably closed the gap on speed with an Old Vitor.

No doubt Vitor loves fighting in Brazil with the lax testing that goes on but I don't think it's enough for a 5 round fight.

I don't think Vitor has anything for Gastelum at this point in his career. I think Gastelum will be able to handle anything Belfort may throw at him early, and that he'll be more likely to get the knockout the longer the fight goes on, but he won't need much time to take care of Vitor's bloated corpse.

I give Kelvin the edge on the feet based on the fact that Vitor is only good for 1 explosion nowadays, him having good movement doesn't hurt either. Not to mention that Vitor seems to be way too tentative when striking, waits around too much and never commits to anything. Kelvin on the other hand likes to string combinations together, so I'm thinking that he hurts Belfort late in the fight and finish it on the ground.

it would be tempting to put a little money on belfort b/c he is such a big underdog in his home country. the first round imho will be vicious. feeling disrespected(belfort) can lead to some octagon rage.

I agree, Vitor as an underdog is always worth a putting a couple hundred quid on. He's got the ability to end anyone and Gastelum isn't exactly this unbeatable honcho.
