Bones Jones all the way. Bader is good, but how could you pick otherwise... how could you?

jones was talking some trash about this fight, saying he was bored to face another wrestler. sounds like he was looking for somebody bigger than bader . . . or that nobody bigger than bader is looking for him.

I think Jones is of the mindset that he was going to get someone established so he's disappointed. After Baders win over Little Nog though, I think it's definitely a good match up. It will be interesting to see who's wrestling is more effective in the cage, trips/throws vs shots. Standing Jones is obviously much more dynamic but Bader has some raw power. Can't wait.

if bader can put jones on his back, it definitely makes things interesting. never seen how jones does from that position. jones is not that experienced.

agree w/ RJCT jones was looking for a thiago / rashad / lyoto / rampage / forrest etc. level fighter. problem is most of those guys are scheduled and don't really want to fight him anyway. if jones wants to stay active he needs to take one more against an up and comer i guess, then maybe he can get one of those top names, or at least a guy like ortiz that he can whoop on and make a name with.

The Jon jones demolition tour 2010 is making one last stop. Nader is not on the same level. I see him barely escaping the first round after heavy GNP and getting finished in the second

I like Jones in this match but I agree with Jones on his views, I would like to see him go against someone known for their striking ability. Not necessarily a top 5 LHW but someone with known to KO fighters with decent ground.

yeah, you could argue that person known for striking ability is basically brandon vera, though, who jones steamrolled.
only other guy i can think of who's not in top 5 is maybe thiago silva. possibly rich franklin, but why do that to poor rich. feijao cavalcante would be a cool matchup for jon jones, but they won't cross-promote.

i agree that vera is a great striker but we often forget that he has a good ground background as well. so we lose the whole striker vs grappler match-up. but i agree i think feijao or thiago would be great fights for jones.

the guy who did the best against jones recently was bonnar, and that's probably because he's got decent reach and is really durable. feijao would be a sweet fight. thiago i think would be a little slow for jones. i could see them putting jones against machida if machida beats rampage. that would be interesting. the two guys with the most interesting trips and throws in the division going head to head.

i've watched that jones/bonnar fight at least 5 times. jones is just unbelievable. jones vs jake o'brien is a good one to check out again also.

anyone who thinks jon jones isnt going to win this fight is delusional. jeremy put it perfectly, the jon jones destruction tour 2010 is just tearing through the ufc. I would really like to see jones fight the winner of rampage machida after he is done with bader and then maybe a title fight depending how that goes.

100% agreed. i think jones destroys rampage too. machida could be interesting as his style is so unorthodox, but my money would be on jones in that one as well. he just looks unstoppable right now.

Machida would be an interesting fight, and I'd say Rampage has the power to give himself a solid puncher's chance, but I just don't think he's training hard anymore, so his timing will be off if they ever do fight. I'm expecting Machida to beat Rampage anyways, though.

One thing should be clear: Nobody is going to beat Jon Jones by just coming in there and "letting the fight unfold" without an exact gameplan.
The past two fights Jones has shown that he can use his length in crazy ways to get his opponent to the ground and then inflict damage even from within guard. It's going to take someone really talented PLUS an excellent gameplan. And even that might not be enough.
Machida and Shogun are the two most interesting opponents to me. I think Bader's best chance of being effective is putting Jones on his back, wearing him down, and grinding out a decision.
