So, Kevin Iole of Yahoo sports speculated Mayweather would walk away with 80 mil that night. I can't say how accurate that is but we do know he is getting millions. What a sad ******* world we live in where a boxer who sucks **** can get payed that much.

Been seeing so many people complain about how lackluster this fight was. And to them I say "what did you think would happen?" Every boxing pundit said this is EXACTLY how the fight would go if Mayweather got his way. That's why I thought it just ridiculous for a $100 PPV. Because  "I paid 100 for this?" would be most people's reaction.

Seeing the amount of casual MMA fans coming out of the woodwork claiming that boxing is dead is the best part of it all. Shut the **** up. The fight went the exact way anyone who actually watches thought it would.

@MikeLovesTacosXD The people who are trashing Mayweather vs Pacquiao have every right to do so. When you charge people $100 dollars for a PPV that was supposed to be a super fight, people expect (and rightfully so as a consumer) that they will get their money's worth in terms of entertainment.

This fight was hyped up to be the biggest fight in boxing since Tyson vs Holyfield II,Gatti vs Ward, or De La Hoya vs Mayweather; and that this would be the fight that would act as the catalyst to bring back the casual fan to Boxing.  And for 12 straight rounds, the fight that was hyped to be the biggest fight of the 21st century became an absolute dud.  I'm not saying that Mayweather didn't put up a smart strategy, because it obviously earned him the decision.  However, for a fighter that is supposed to billed as "Boxing's #1 attraction," you expect a little bit more than what was on display last night.

Now is boxing "dead" because of this fight?  Of course not.  Anyone who claims such a thing is silly.

But to say that the casual fans of the sport don't have a right to be upset as a consumer for paying upwards of $100 to see this one fight, either live or on PPV, and getting one of the most underwhelming fights in boxing history is ridiculous.

When you buy a Floyd fight you know what is going to happen. Gennady Golovkin judging by what boxing fans enjoy should be the highest ppv draw in the sport right now.

My theory is that anyone who complained about how this fight didn't live up to the hype never actually watched a Mayweather fight before yesterday.

@amp112 and @p4pgoat So essentially what both of your are arguing is, "**** the consumer who got shafted with a 12 round snooze fest. Floyd has every right to be greedy and demand $100 for one fight that ended up a dud.  Because the fight that  was over hyped for five long years by Showtime, HBO, Floyd, Bob Arum, and everyone else in boxing and sports media are not at all culpable in misleading the consumer for what they paid for.  It is the consumer's fault.  Buyer beware."

@Legz If I'm a "hater" for being a rational person that holds all the parties involved responsible for over hyping this $100 rip off of a fight; then I'd rather be a "hater", as opposed to being a sucker who just blindly accepts getting screwed over and pays Mayweather and Al Haymon the $100 for a **** PPV.

I sure as **** didn't buy this PPV. But I do buy many UFC PPVs out of respect for the effort fighters and promoters put into putting on the show. It is the same reason I tend to see movies in the theater, because I like to support those that produce a product I enjoy.

@greenhornet: I think people should actually know what they're buying before they blow 100 bucks on it. Everyone who knew jack **** about boxing said "this is not gonna be a pretty fight". If every Mayweather fight was the most exciting thing ever and this fight was a dud, then yeah, you have a right to complain.

Horrible idea pricing that PPV at $100. I didn't buy it cuz I thought that was too expensive.

@BigJ  I'm definitely going to try and buy UFC 189 if/when I start earning some more money during the summer.  As of right now, I'm too damn poor to pay for PPV.  Unless you can get it through Fight Pass, which I would absolutely buy if that is the case.

I really expected the fight to be boring if Floyd Mayweather won, so I'm not surprised about that.

I'm mad that Floyd Mayweather won because he is now the representative of this generation of boxing, and not Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao is the master of combinations in movement and angles. The speed and power of his punches are unmatched by anyone of his size, ever. Manny Pacquiao was a joy to watch, and a real treat to watch for boxing fans.

Floyd Mayweather is the defensive master who knows how to win better than anyone. He always does just enough to win, which might make him one of the most intelligent boxers ever, but he didn't redefine boxing technique quite like Pacquiao did. Instead, he demonstrated his ruthless efficiency, which is impressive but...

It's a shame.

@amp112  The thing is though, Floyd used to fight aggressive at points in his fights way back when in the early to mid 2000's.  Sure he was still very much of a defensive counter puncher that used his mobility to his advantage, but he also would initiate offense with the jab and use his mobility to score quick 2-3 punch combos.  Nowadays (at least what I saw from the Pacquiao fight and the 1st Maidana fight), Floyd barley engages in an exchange with his opponent unless he is counter punching.   Look at the fights Floyd had when he fought against boxers like the late Diego Corrales, the late Arturo Gatti, Jesus Chavez, and Zab Judah.  Mayweather engaged more offense exchanges in those fights (especially when he fought at lightweight) than what he has done in his fights against the likes of Maidana, Alvarez, and most recently the Pacquiao fight.  It's like he wasn't even trying to fight Pacquiao.

@greenhornet. It also has to do with the fighter he is fighting. Maidana was an "odd" matchup for Mayweather. He pressed forward, didn't land much, but he made Mayweather uncomfortable. Then in their second fight, Mayweather knew what he was gonna do, and pretty much countered Maidana until Maidana tired himself out, which is what happened in the first fight as well. That's what happened with Manny yesterday. By the end of the fight, Manny was too tired from chasing Floyd, and Floyd countered him very well.

Also, you mention his lightweight days: he was a much younger fighter. You can't do that **** all the time when you're in your late 30s, you're gonna tire yourself out. Look at Bernard Hopkins, he's become probably the most boring fighter to watch, but he's lasted well into his 40s because he fought very smart.

Floyd's a smart fighter, he's not gonna throw caution into the wind. He seems to value his legacy very much, so everything kinda pointed to a safe, boring fight.

And this goes back to what I said about "do your research". Some chick on my facebook (who seems to have 0 knowledge of boxing) said "I checked Mayweather's record and his last 6 fights were 12 round decisions, why is everyone so surprised?"
