Cowboy is such a badass, I dont think he wins this but hes still awesome for fighting an ex champion on like 2 weeks rest. Im surprised they didnt make this fight in Colorado in Feb like Cowboy wanted. Don't both of these guys have ties to Colorado?

Can't pick against Cerrone because I want him to win that much.

I mean, Bendo got whooped by Edgar the second time but was given the win. Lost to Josh Thomson and again awarded the win. Had a controversial decision vs Gil, was losing to Khabilov before catching him and got put away against Anjos and Pettis.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be favored, but it feels like to me Bendo is beginning his descent from the top to the bottom. Cerrone is finally standing ontop of Contenders hill once again

Bendo wasn't really beating Khabilov. Khabilov got the first round, after rounds 2 and 3, it looked like Bendo was on his way to a typical Bendo decision win before the RNC. At least that's how I remember it.

As someone who will be attending the Boston event, I'm pumped for this fight even moreso than Bendo/Alvarez. Hope it can approach their first meeting and doesn't end like the second.

Still, can't help but feel it's being wasted as a three-rounder. These dudes need five to figure out what's what. They'll just be getting started at around the 10-min mark.

Meanwhile, McGregor's got five rounds to work against Siver and he'll likely need less than five minutes.

Cowboy has looked like a new fighter an has been on quiet a tear ever since working with a Sports Physiologist. He looks like he is over his performance anxiety or whatever was mentally blocking him from reaching his potential. I think Bendo will have his hands full on this one. They both have the tools to win but I think Pettis exposed a weakness in Bendo's game. That left to the body could be utilized by Cowboy to hurt Bendo early. I think Bendo has a slight wrestling advantage but not enough to make a difference. slight favorite to Cowboy all around.

Cowboy comes out smelling like a rose either way.

If he loses he will still only be one win away from a title shot.  He's a needle mover.

Awesome news.

I thought Cowboy deserved the win in their first fight anyway.  So to me it's like they're 1-1.

I wonder if Cerrone will leapfrog Nurmy if/when he beats Benson.

Yeah that's true, he probably will take multiple fights this year.

And I forgot that Cerrone lost to RDA and Pettis, so it might be hard to market the rematches.

RDA rematch would not be hard to market at all. He won the 3rd round and if that had been a 5 rounder that might have ended up going his way. As for the Pettis fight, at this point they are a lot of fights removed from the first one. Though I still don't like his chances against Pettis.

Cerrone has no chance against Pettis if he earns a rematch ... That said, if he earns a shot, he earns a shot.

@skelliher Don't even think about that, Benson Henderson is definitely winning this.

A win is for Cerrone is highly unlikely here, but at the same time he has very little to lose. Losing a fight on two weeks notice to the notoriously undecisionable Henderson would not lower his stock at all. This probably the only way he'd get a third chance at this opponent, so it makes sense for him to roll the dice. As Nomad pointed out, benson is recovering from some pretty big loses, so his confidence might be t n ll time low. This might just be the best time to fight him.

It cracks me up how everyone jist pickimg Bendo here and pretty much writing Cerrone off. Their first fight is a better example of how this fight plays out than their second fight is.
